Stone’s 2016 Double Bastard Bigger Longer Uncut (Picked up at Bev-Mo). A 4 of 4. Aged in Islay barrels, this is incredibly peaty. Do you like Islay Scotch? If so, drink this. Do you not like incredibly peaty things? Avoid this. All the notes you’d expect out of Double Bastard with tons of caramel and toffee sweetness and an aggressive resinous bitterness, plus an over-the-top amount of notes from the barrels. Lots of peat, lots of smoke, lots of medicinal/herbal qualities. This is big in the best, best way. If you’re a fan of Islay Scotch, you must try this.

Biggest Bastard

When you take a strong ale and make it stronger, you end up with a barley wine. Double Bastard is a beer dessert. Sweet upfront with a long bitter finish. Caramel syrup on candied oranges. Toffee covered hop clusters. Double Bastard is an alcoholic ice cream topping. It can be a bit much, but that's sort of the point.
