AGATHA CHRISTIE'S POIROT: DOUBLE SIN (1990)
dir. richard spence
Your little grey cells are exhausted. (x)
The fact that Poirot lies and says that Hastings needs a vacation by the sea just to spy on Inspector Japp's lecture circuit for little old ladies...the sheer pettiness of it all. And Hastings doesn't even question it, which tells you that these kinds of wild whims are a regular thing with Poirot. He doesn't even blink at it. Free vacation? Time with his favorite Belgian? It doesn't even enter his golden retriever's mind that Poirot is out there to unnerve Japp.

"He’s always been middle aged. Have you seen that photo of him at his christening? He looks like he’s about to address a board meeting."
ARTHUR. ARTHUR HASTINGS.
Something pretty.
And Lake Windermere.
Hastings looking on rather disdainfully as Poirot refuses to help the damsel in distress. Pff! What a cad.
Well, he's always been middle-aged. (x)
