Sebastian is their producer and he’s wicked cool and amazing at his job now what Charles and Pierre and Max and Yuki and Carlos know is that he used to be a musician and they vibe with him and he helps them along because he knows what it is to have a sound what they don’t know is that he has literally lived their life--more specifically he has literally lived the one part of the Piarles story in the fic except it didn’t end well for him?

Couldn’t work out there was just too much tension and it became toxic and it ate the band from the inside out and they split and it was awful and Seb was so scarred he didn’t want to do music ever again but then he looked at these kids and was like well if I can’t play music I sure as hell can nudge you guys along on your journey but then at the end of it all. He sees Charles and Pierre work it out and it’s not entirely the most perfect ending, Charles is leaving the band you know? Charles has to leave the band for this to work out but you know what? It’s going to work out! Because Charles CHOSE the only path he could take for it to work out! It’s a choice! It involves sacrifice!

But Seb goes, oh. Oh what an idiot I am. For the longest time ever I just tied my love for music with my love for Mark and I thought I couldn’t have one without the other but it just led to me giving up both loves of my life and what for? Whatever for? I just gave them both up?

He calls Mark at 3am in the morning, sobbing. Mark picks up.

Seb goes, Mark don’t hang up, please.

Mark goes, Seb I literally answered at 3am, why on earth do you think I’d hang up?

And Seb goes, please, can we talk? I know we didn’t end well. I know I was a fool. Maybe you can find it in you to forgive me, or at least to hear me out--

And Mark goes, where the hell are you? (Mark’s crying at this point but he’s not going to admit it)

Seb’s like, I’m outside the studio. Mark, don’t say things like that if you’re just going to leave me here--

And Mark rushes over because he never stopped living near the studio he couldn’t bring himself to move away and he finds Seb crouched outside the studio doors all wretched and heartbroken and Mark flings his arms around Seb and the five of them are inside watching and rooting for these two old musicians so badly--

For your adopted Au you say Eda yoinked Hunter away from Belos, does that mean Hunter already knew him? Is Belos looking for him? This will definitely change how meeting the Emperor goes.

SO, yes, Belos had already had Hunter for a while. I'm going off the vague impression that Hunter's parents are either dead or just don't care that much because Hunter never really mentioned them or an issue with Belos taking him in so I imagine they weren't that important to begin with. So Belos probably took in Hunter when he was like, what, 5? I like to think that Belos does genuinely care about Hunter, but in a really fucked up way that isn't truly loving a person its mostly just "thats My thing and you cant have it" sorta way. So yes he was frantically searching for Hunter after he was yoinked by Eda, but eventually calmed the searches when it became apparent he wouldn't be found. Had suspicions that Hunter was alive but it was never confirmed until Agony of a Witch, and by then, he sees Hunter more of a tool. Doesn't get full "you are my NEPHEW dont you CARE ABOUT ME?" till later

Also yes! Hunter goes to Hexside! Though not really, he was raised by Eda after all he's not gonna care about school, he mostly just went because he wanted to learn what Eda couldn't teach him about the covens. He's technically in the potions track but he uses Eda's secret doorways 24/7 and never shows up to class and just writes down what he learns from other classes and tests it out with his staff. He's the schools local cryptid. Unless you're the double-track kids, who found Eda's secret doorways and know Hunter pretty well and that he's just a nerdy dumbass. Hunter pretends they bother him but they're like his only friends lmao
