Here’s the Double X block.

The fabrics I chose.

I cut 1 strip 3 1/4″ w from the orange fabric and 1 strip 2 7/8″ w and 1 strip 3 1/4″ w from the patterned fabric.

Next, I cut 3 squares from the 2 7/8″ w strip.  Then I cut 3 squares from the 3 1/4″ w strips, then cut 6 half squares triangles for each color.

Then I sewed the half square triangles together, squared them up and laid the block out…
