Speaking as a queer Scot, if you’re into Half Man and would like more queer Scottish representation pleeease read Douglas Stuart’s books! He’s got two books out currently (Shuggie Bain & Young Mungo) and a new one (John of John) coming out this month!
you know, all the reviews that i read beforehand of young mungo by douglas stuart said that it was an intense read but i'm a bit over halfway through and it's turned into the sort of novel where i am genuinely afraid the main character isn't going to make it out alive. the fishing trip his mom sent him on has a body count. practically every adult in the book is the worst person you've ever met. i am so stressed about this fictional 15 year old from glasgow please send help.
