The SkyTop Motel in Dover, New Jersey. Opened in 1950. Demolished in 2016 to make room for a CVS. The SkyTop is actually the first motel I ever wrote about and a huge inspiration for this page. Here’s my original post about it.

Very busy - closing the school year - have not been able to get to Dover NJ 07801. So, I took the short cut and went to my photo library. Hope to get there soon. Need the food, scenery, people, inspiration and alone time - my solitude off the highway; away from home. (Carlos H Morales 5/23/17

I have another! Gustavo Gonzales, Dover NJ. He’s actually a nurse practitioner who I saw when I was on what is basically Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, living in New Jersey. I went to him for a required physical for a job, and he actually refused to tick one of the “underweight, healthy weight, over weight” boxes! He said it was ridiculous, that I was a perfectly healthy person and my weight was irrelevant, and man it was one the best doctor’s visit EVER! Plus he answers his own phone, and I had to wait five minutes for my appointment because Argentina was playing a World Cup soccer match and he had to see the end.

To those of you reading this, thank you very much for your interest and support. Our Drama department is under some threat from the board these days--we all know the arts are taking heavy budget cuts, sometimes being wiped out of schools entirely. We’d like as big of a turnout as possible to prove that the arts matter to people! If they took the theater away or cut into it any further----we have very little to work with as it is; most of the props, and even some costume pieces in our shows are brought in by we the cast, ourselves, because we can’t afford to buy them on the budget if we want to have any kind of a set or nice, complete costumes----they’ll be taking a piece of soul away from CCM, and we need to prove it. Your support is appreciated by each and every one of us, from the leading men and women to our light and sound crew. Thank you so much!
