To both Arthurs, how do you guys feel about normal/combined you?
Downthur shrugs. “I don’t know. I don’t hate him.”
Upthur looks at his counterpart with a frown, before focusing. “He’s…..I like him and all- but he’s so….so frustrating sometimes.” Upthur sighs and flips at his hair, pacing a little with his eyes on the ground. He tried to lace his arms behind his back, but the second his mouth opened, they unfurled again to gesticulate his words.
“I mean- he’s nice and all but he’s so- lackluster in energy? He barely gets things done sometimes. Half the time he just wants a nap or he says something he shouldn’t and- I know that’s him.” His hand cut through the air in a sweep, landing in Downthur’s direction.
“I love Arthur to pieces and I want what’s best for him! I know he could do a lot of good things- a lot more than he already does- and he could be really happy! He could save even more people and he could feel better about himself and not be bogged down in doubt! But he let’s those parts of him take the driver’s seat! I can’t help him if he doesn’t try to let go. So- I love him- I love what he could be and what he could do. But he isn’t honest with himself or his friends! And he doesn’t let himself get better. He is me and is the best parts of himself- but he’s the worst parts too- he’s him too, and I hate that he has to be.”
