Doyak created a great story with an impeccable cinematic art for a debut work. She is a queen for finishing it despite all shite that has been going on for years. Those who are directly attacking her could never have even started something like that. Way less archived.

People urgently need to learn how to deal with small frustrations in life, because those will continue to pile up for way more serious reasons than a character ending up (or not) with another character.

If you don't accept a story for what it is, stop reading it or create one yourself? I dare you. Maybe then you will see how shallow this dichotomy of "green and red flag" is when you want to develop an interesting narrative with complex characters.

WET SAND #1 Review: Everyone loves Ian--and it's time you fall in love with him too

Inklore's latest BL manhwa "Wet Sand" has K-ComicsBeat's biggest fujoshis flailing about for the first volume.

Yesterday I listened to the whole audio drama of Wet Sand Season 1 and the production is so impeccable that it's hard not to listen to it in one go. When reading the story, because there's a lot of flashbacks, POVs and subtext, we have to pay a lot of attention to catch everything. The audio drama does give the tone and makes it way easier.

It was nice to revisit S1; this is the most interesting arc so far, for Ian (Shin Youngwoo) and TJ (Oh Taejoon)'s backstory. TJ is by far my favourite character because of his complexity and well constructed relationship with Ian. They support each other to survive but end up trapping each other for so long that detachment seems unbearable.

Joseph is a character that seems too shallow for me. This reading is likely related to a negative bias I have for characters (and people) who have a privileged background, knowing little about the levels of how tough life can be. TJ and Ian have their reasons for their codependency and obsession; Joseph is just having a bit of a thrill for the first time, possibly jumping into the deep end of the underworld ーwhen he had no need to.

S2 and 3 have a bunch of plot holes in relation to the first one, so let's see what Doyak is planning.
