“You could have died!”
“Doyoung-”
“What you did was super dangerous! And- and illegal? Probably very much illegal...?!”
“Doyoung, please...”
“Y/N you can’t do that! You can’t go to jail! What am I supposed to do while you’re in jail- I... I won’t visit you!”
“Doyoung!” you exclaimed, sending him into silence. He held his mouth closed tightly, a frustrated pout, cheeks slightly puffed out - it took all of your strength not to laugh out loud right there and then. Though despite your best efforts, your giggles trickled into your voice as you continued. “Relax, baby, I’m not going to jail.”
His face was a picture; stunned, horrified, borderline exasperated. He couldn’t hold himself back. “You threw yourself into a random lady’s garden!”
You held his gaze, nonchalant.
"What?!” He glanced at you, then at the surroundings, and then right back again. “Why would you...!”
You shrugged. “Cute puppy. Needed them pats.”
As you nodded knowingly, it seemed your boyfriend was seconds from perhaps having a tiny breakdown. You extended your hands over the side of the sofa, requesting cuddles. His eyes narrowed, lips pressed so thinly they couldn’t be seen. But he obliged, reluctantly coming to your side, though only partially.
As you inclined you body onto his, you found he didn’t budge from his position - his back remained bolt straight and his arms crossed defiantly.
Sighing, you decided to work with it, nocking your head onto his shoulder, fingers gripping his fleece as you smiled somewhat contently.
“You love me really.”
“I know,” he replied grumpily. “And that’s part of the problem.”
You chuckled, feeling him release his tension and snake his arms around you mutually. “Maybe we should get a dog...”
You leant back immediately, shock etched upon your face. “Eh?!”
“Well,” he reasoned, “it would mean you wouldn’t need to pet dogs so bad and therefore throw yourself over a fence when I’m not looking.”
You shook your head. “Nope. That’s not how it works. I’m not pat-starved, the dog was!” You paused, slightly panicked. “But can we still have one, please?”
He nestled closer, making up the space you’d created, the lavender scent of his shampoo tickling your nose as he found his place beside your collarbone. “I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. Because, well, I don’t want you to get lonely when I’m not here. Schedules, and tours, and, stuff.”
You knew all of this too well. Long nights that grasped and pulled at the empty bed, sneaking both blankets and time alike away from you whilst you remained awake, rest stolen alike the night sometimes stole the moon.
“That would actually be...” you felt a smile twitch at your lips, imagining a strange, perhaps raucous, perhaps docile bundle of fluff filling the space beside you, “great. That would be so nice, Doyoung. Please!”
You felt a sharp exhale tickle at your skin. “As long as they don’t replace me, then of course.”
You pretended to think deeply for a brief moment before bursting into giggles as he shook you poutily and whining.
“Don’t worry, baby, you know I love you more than the moon adores the sun.”
You smiled, kissing him on the corner of his pouted lips, and he finally reciprocated, pressing his forehead against yours, your noses accidentally brushing but refusing to pull any further back as you kissed him properly.
And the warmth of the room battling the winter ice became cold in comparison to the warmth that seeped into your bones at that very moment.
...
“But if I did go to jail, you would visit me - you know you would!”
“One cute moment - one! It’s all I ask and yet-!”
