I've actually had conversations a few times over with friends regarding slow Loris and the fact that I don't agree with them being kept as pets. Everyone is easily blinded when they see an adorable video of them. Don't get me wrong, they are adorable. But they are not meant to be kept as household pets. The only way that they can be is by being captured and transported in ways that kill most of them. And the fact is, there is no way to own one without having its teeth removed forcefully and painfully. They actually have a gland that is located in their arm that holds a toxin that when they lick and clean themselves, it is activated by their saliva. Their bite is toxic, something that is rare among mammals and unique to lorisid primates. But the only way to really ensure your safety as a human is to remove their teeth. Why should a harmless animal have to have the teeth cut and ripped out of its head simply so you can have a cute pet? This is not okay and should not be supported in any form. Social media has this easy way of making things seem adorable compared to what they truly are. Do your research people. Please. . . #slowloris #pygmyslowloris #notapet #endthetrade #doyourrsearch
