For his last day in town before heading back to the city to "tie up loose ends," Charlie suggested spending some quality time at the pool.

I'm officially on maternity leave from work because I wasn't physically able to stand on my feet all day anymore. So a day at the pool is perfect for a big 'ol mama-to-be like me.

That is until Charlie steps away to use the bathroom, and a swarm of nosy neighbors surrounds me.

Nosy Neighbor #1: "Sorry to bother you miss, but was that the Charles Lovett?"

Nosy Neighbor #2: *Gasp* "Are you that broad carrying triplets?"

Nosy Neighbor #3: "Louder Gasp* "Is Charles the father of your triplets?"

Before I could get a word out, Charlie walked back over from the bathroom.

Charlie: "Afternoon ladies."

Selena: "We're leaving."

Feeling very accomplished with the new furnished home, I sat for a moment to enjoy my new rocking chair. I was in the middle of envisioning rocking the baby to sleep in this chair when my phone rang. It was the doctor. 

“Triplets?!?!”

After hanging up with the doctor, I was suddenly very thirsty. I walked over to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, but I was feeling very uneasy. Is this what a panic attack feels like? 

It was one thing to raise a single baby on my own. But three??

Sophia: “Did you all hear Selena got herself knocked up with triplets?”

Suzanne: “How would you possibly know that?”

Sophia: “Vivian told me, ya know the wife of a doctor? Small world, her doctor husband is apparently Selena’s doctor.”

Vera: “Triplets, you say? My oh my, did this wife of a doctor of yours tell you where Selena’s gone to then?”

Sophia: “I didn’t ask. Why does it matter? She’s gone, it’s not our problem.”

Charlie didn’t say a word for the whole conversation. He tried not to show any reaction on his face, and continued floating in the pool while his head was racing. How far along is she? Could he be the father?
