"Secret" Page's Secrets on Spamton Sweepstakes Web Page

I've been analyzing the html code of the various pages on the Spamton Sweepstakes website. Sometimes if you click on the banner ad with a game on it...

...You get Secret Pipis with a gasping crowd sound & the page is called "You Lose." (Nothing of interest in the code.) But sometimes, you get a game where you open wardrobe doors & try to find a "prize."

The cabinets are designated by letters. A Ralsei plush is a "Winner" in PrizeB (the 2nd door). A pipis is in G & again is named "You Lose" (G, huh?....). L is an empty gumball machine, questionably considered a winner. (It's broken; the knob is missing so it can't even be reused like this. What could this be about? A vague snowglobe representation? The ethereal thought of "what is it WAS full of candy or toys"? Tom Servo's head from Mystery Science Theater 3000? 😅)

M is a screenshot of a small part of a wiki page including text that reads "website that lures the viewer deeper and deeper".

Then there's O, which doesn't have the usual prize designation in its code, but instead takes you to a new page (/chair). This is where it got very, very interesting... There's the chair, with what looks like a coat or jacket draped over the back, then if you click it, a creepy black blob stirs over the chair, with a sound called water.ogg. (Again, interesting that the game refers to the song from the sea, & when Kris first falls into the Dark World in Chapter 1, there's a water sound effect...)

The page title for the regular chair, then the darkness-enveloped one, are:

"But what if it could... ...get darker than dark?"

(Pure guessing, but what popped into my head is: Dess left her coat & went out, & may have been consumed by darkness. A deeper layer of darkness...)

When I tried to save either image directly on the web page, it only saved as a tiny pair of circles colored yellow & pink. The code shows those as an "alt", which intercepts the save attempt, & there was a sound called face.ogg mentioned as well.

Then I noticed a variable in the code...

So I found out what the eyes are for... There's a very small (looks like 5%) chance that clicking the chair... causes a jumpscare! I managed to record it. (Sound on for full effect)

WOOO!!!! SCARYYYY!!! XDDDD

(I wonder if that's Spamton... or DEVICE_FRIEND?)

(Not sure the wardrobe prize slot letters mean anything, but just rounding 'em up to point out there's BGLMO. A couple sort-of anagrams can be made from that, but so far none seem meaningful yet at least.)

Gerson’s Significance in DeltaRune?

As I noted in my super long thoughts while playing the peaceful route of DeltaRune Chapter 2... Father Alvin says that Gerson Boom was his father. And it became clear that items associated with the deceased are buried (either with their remains [be that bodies or dust], or to represent them, if perhaps they disappear upon death). And as you try to leave, he can be heard mumbling what COULD be a desire to dig up the hammer Gerson was buried with, feeling like it would do more good out here in the world instead of buried, or he already has it and wonders if it's right to do something with it. (Though of course, that’s just what I take away from the incomplete sentences, quite speculative.)

So, I thought things over on and off. Gerson was a VERY inspirational figure in DeltaRune. This seems to be emphasized a LOT through the game, from NPCs and books, and even concerning the old classroom. He wove a bridge between history (reality) and fiction (imagination), which seems like a way to connect with the dark world, whether he may have realized it or not.

Sooo... I wonder if Gerson may become quite important to the plot. Whether in spirit or in some form.

Another interesting line of thought is that Alphys is, once again, filling big shoes. She was specifically named as a successor to Gerson. Not unlike how she was selected to fill the void (heh) left by Gaster upon his disappearance.

And... one more thing I realized:

“Gerson” is an anagram for “Goners.” o_o

Deltarune & Doors

There's an odd thing about the Dark World & doors...

In both chapters, the Dark World has been contained behind doors. In Chapter 1, Lancer somehow got into Ralsei's kingdom, due to a large door (the one between the closet & the abandoned classroom) having been opened somehow (which Ralsei closed behind us as we ventured through it, & remains sealed after the Card Kingdom's fountain was also sealed).

In Chapter 2, the Computer Lab's door was changed from single to double (though that may have just been a technical thing so Susie & Kris could both fit at the same time). & when the Light World version of the Computer Lab was revealed, there's an open door to a closet.

& at the END of Chapter 2, Kris specifically opened the front door, before creating the Dark Fountain.

Then of course, there are the "shortcut" doors that resemble Sans's from Undertale, & Papyrus saying it's like it leads to another world. One UT door is a rare secret & connection to the Mystery Man (Probably-Gaster).

Several locked doors are present in UT & both chapters of DR, teasing us with possibilities, some of which are eventually fulfilled (shortcuts unlocked, shopkeepers showing up, our rooms at Ralsei's town being finished), or probably will be (Ralsei's other rooms & his own, other rooms in Kris's house, Sans's house [please Please PLEASE???]), while others remain unfulfilled & mysterious (closed for renovations).

There is even a being who listens eagerly for knocking, & encourages us to keep practicing knocking on doors.

Doors can, of course, be symbols of opening up to new opportunities & the future, or closing them to leave your past behind. Another-Probably-Gaster said, on Twitter, that they look forward to creating a new future with us.

Who knows where the next doorway may lead...

Jevil & Spamton Getting Along...?

We need a tag or nickname for Jevil & Spamton getting along, being friends, etc., I think. Especially since that currently seems the opposite of canon (given MANY of Spamton’s & other NPC’s dialogue showing he hates/fears Jevil).

It’s such a fun thing to imagine though, so of course for fanon purposes it makes us smile. They’re both basically ruined by forbidden knowledge. They could support each other with mutual understanding, & be crazy boiz together... 🤗

Any suggestions? Any floating around that I don’t know about (since I’ve been WAY out of the loop and probably will be for quite a while still...)?

I suggest “joke mail” or “jokemail”. Since Jevil is a Joker card (at least, originated as one), it sounds a bit like “junk mail” (AKA spam), & often a lot of spam emails I used to get back in the 90s/early 2000s were collections of jokes. (I kind of miss those now, tbh). And if it’s all one word, it also contains “email.”

Also, more dark-humorously, maybe all the secret/optional bosses could be grouped together under the umbrella term: “gastered bastards” or “gaster’d bastards.” If they’ve been Gastered/Gaster’d (told by Gaster that they’re just code in a game), then chances are they’ll all have behavioral issues when we meet them... Though I guess we’ll see over time.
