I was with my family and we were talking about alternative medicine or something, and my grandma told me a story about how her step grandfather was moving into a house down in South Carolina and the people moving out didn't like him, so they made a voodoo doll of him, and stuck some pins in it (it was called "putting the root on someone") and he apparently was always in pain, so he talked to the local doctor/expert on voodoo (called Dr. Buzzard) who told him to check the end of the garden and destroy the bucket that was there, and sure enough he found it and destroyed it and made a full recovery.
