Stalking Dr. Dominguez... or is he stalking us? ⊂•⊃_⊂•⊃
I just think it’s funny that Rourke... I mean, COMMANDER Rourke, is totally overdressed for this occasion. Everyone is just wearing casual clothes, even Dominguez is wearing casual archaeologist clothes, but nooo... Rourke had to pick his new Gucci suit.
At the beginning of the game, it seems like Rourke is just Dominguez’s right hand man, and errand boy. Rourke permanently has to drag Dominguez away, when he’s unnecessary mingling with the locals. But at the end of the game you know that they both, in fact, just begrudgingly respect each other. I’d even say that Rourke doesn’t respect Dominguez at all, and he’s just pretending here. Given the fact that he elides Dominguez’s orders (not killing Lara), or that he gets delighted, because “Dominguez will be out of the way soon”.
Also: you can’t convince me that the moment Dominguez says “Wait.” and looks in Lara’s direction, that he did not know it was her. I think he already suspected, from the beginning, that Lara was pursuing him, and when he saw her, he just knew, that this woman was her.
It’s these little details that I really like in SOTTR.
