Each installation of Danganronpa has different major strengths and focuses about it, and it's really interesting when you find out which one is a person's favorite, because it tells you a lot about what they value most in a story.
THH- claustrophobic atmosphere, characters are based in specific subcultures and subverting them, story balance between fleshed out characters/subplots and story progression
DR0- moving parts of a conspiracy from multiple angles, new perspectives of established characters from what they were before, foreshadowing of the twist
SDR2- character design is at its peak, focus on personal redemption, the equal potential for good and evil and the power of choice, cast feels the most intertwined
DR IF- character study, explores alternate possibilities, humanizes a villain with a new perspective and sympathy, theme of forgiveness
UDG- huge focus on leading cast, major character growth prioritized, shows the affects of abuse in all its forms, nuanced take on war based on identity and necessary empathy
DR3- how the past affects the present, changing the future doesn't mean forgetting the past, depictions of survivors' guilt, tying together loose threads and answering questions
V3- themes of reality and faith, use of fiction on a meta level, importance of personal truths, outlandishly designed cast with grounded immaturity, anti capitalist messaging
