Julio: “You know we wouldn't forget about you, Sir. Mashed potatoes, no gravy, pureed corn without butter, Sir.”

Amy: “A little turkey breast, if you're off the vegetarian thing.”

Buzz: “No dressing, but we do have pie.”

Andy: “God, it smells delicious. You know, they wouldn't let me have breakfast for some reason.”

Taylor: “Andy, I'll serve. I'm sure you'd like a bit of everything.”

Andy: “Bring it on.”

Morales: “So, where's this clot?”

Andy: “Oh, uh, well, she said it moved, uh, up...up to here.”

Morales: “Oh. Well...good luck.”

Andy: “Yeah, right. Well, great. Um, okay. Guys, Sharon, thanks. This...”

Liu: “Excuse us, Mr Flynn, your blood work came back. We're good to... Hey, whoa, you can't eat any of that! You want to choke to death when we give you the anaesthesia?”

Andy: “I'm going into surgery now?”

Liu: “Yeah, we got lots of openings because of the holiday so I need everyone out. Thank you very much, but you all have to go. I need the room, please. Thank you. Happy Thanksgiving. Looks delicious. Everybody out. Thank you.”

Provenza: “Flynn, um, now, just... Just keep calm. This is a...a good thing.”

Andy: “Oh, um, Sharon...”

Sharon: “Andy, I'll wait for you.”

Liu: “Okay, thank you. Out, please. Out. Out.”

I’m interested in this Joe and Morales angle. Please tell me more! And is it funny?

Mostly absurd, as in it pairs off two ridiculously intelligent middle-aged men who are just aware enough of each other's existence that neither one knows exactly which category the other one belongs in when it comes to compartmentalizing. And it’s putting them both wrong-footed. XD Another venture with @iwritesometimes

Morales tossed A Look at the approximately two miles of tow-headed shrink leaning on his desk. “I'm not hostile. I like ninety-five percent of the people who come through those doors. The dead ones, mostly.”

Joe regarded him with amusement. “That’s a pretty convincing statistic when you put it that way. It's how you feel about the other five percent that might be a problem.”

“The other five percent would be the people who won't give me the time and space I need to do my job properly.”

“Is that a hint for me to get out of your office?”

“What makes you think I'd waste time hinting if I wanted you gone?”

“Well, you don't have a reputation as someone who throws people out of the morgue. I'm pretty sure I'd have heard about that. So who is it not letting you work properly?”

This guy. Truth of the matter was, even after two beyond chaste disaster dates, Morales was too curious to kick him out, but just didn’t get why he was there either. And it was really starting to get on his nerves (especially the fact that he still couldn’t remember the guy's last name).

“I'm not sure if that's an invitation to vent or if you're trying to get into my head.” He gestured Joe’s way with a folder containing a dossier on a concussed drowning victim. “Though maybe I should be flattered that there's some part of me you're interested in getting into,” he added, just a touch catty and not ashamed of it.

Joe cocked his head a little, his smile retreating. “I am interested in you, Dr. Morales. And sure, you can vent if you'd like to. I won't even respond, if you'd rather just talk about it.”

“Look. Joe. I have a therapist. And I'm not interested in watching you work off the clock. If we're being honest with each other, I'm not sure why you're here at all.” He dropped the folder back to his desk. “It’s not like we have a lot of overlap in clientele.”

Thankfully.

Andy: “Oh, yeah! Um, Tackles! Huge TVs. Big Burgers. Cute girls. Tasteless. The way they dress those waitresses there.”

Dr Morales: “There’s a reason they call them ‘Breastaurants.’”

Andy: *PROVENZA?!? WHY DIDN’T YOU STOP ME TALKING?!?*

Provenza: *Idiot! That was a short honeymoon period!*

Andy: “We'll also need a list of all the Clerks & Deputies who had access to the evidence because what happened here today wasn't just a mass shooting. It had to be a conspiracy.”

Dr Morales: “Dwight probably won't live, but we'll see.”

Sharon: “What about Dr Joe?”

Dr Morales: “It's 50/50. I'm...I am very sorry about Chief Taylor. He was a Cop's Cop.”

Sharon: “Never more than today.”

Dr Morales: “And DDA Rosen, too. God, I don't believe it. I'm gonna get your prelim started so you don't have to come to the morgue, okay?”

Morales: “Both guys had wedding rings, but the killer's is inscribed with a name.”

Sharon: “Janice."

Morales: “And there's this wadded-up note I pulled from his stomach. The paper displays no signs of digestion, so he probably swallowed it right before he went through the window. Would you like to take the paper with you, or would you prefer me to photocopy it?”

Dr Morales: “Sorry. This woman's head is like a glacier. I have to thaw her out carefully or I'll ruin any chance I have at a decent tissue sample.”

Sharon: “Well, what about a hair sample?”

Dr Morales: “Um, it's a wig.”

Sharon: “She chose this? Oh dear God!”

Provenza: “Oh, I can't watch. I can't watch.”

Andy: “Really? Because I can't look away. People pay to have this done to themselves.”

Provenza: “No, they don't. They pay to believe that they'll get another swing at the ball, another night on the town. I don't know if she was murdered, but Marcella was definitely robbed.”

Sharon: “Oh, that's just what she paid for this wig.”

Dr Morales: “Let me say right now, it's gonna take me a few days to get these arsenic levels measured properly.”

Taylor: “Oh, my God. It's true. You did it. Captain, Lieutenants, step out...now. Why did you unplug Marcella Brewster's head? Now we're being sued by this Eternal Meadows place.”

Sharon: “Marcella Brewster is legally deceased & I have every right to examine her head.”

Taylor: “But Eternal Meadows says now that Ms Brewster's been thawed out, she can never be refrozen.”

Provenza: “It's the same with chicken or fish.”

Taylor: “You've broken her perpetual trust. The terms of her entire will have just gone out the window, including all the money she left to the Police Memorial Fund. You understand what that means?”

Sharon: “Oh my God. What if that was the plan all along?”

Andy: “You mean we were played to pull Marcella's head out of the freezer?”

Sharon: “And destroy the terms of her will.”

Provenza: “Tracy has been working for Marcella's relatives this whole time. He poisoned that little dog on purpose.”
