MAAAN in my sleep I had a dream that Popee and Johnny were married and working like mercenaries (taking in mind Johnny's role as a "flusher" for souls). Both were in their 30s, and had Todd and Marifa like siblings. mAAAN I REALLY LIKED THE IDEA, I HAD TO DRAW THEM
Dr. Popee's desing was very challenging, because I had to find a balance between "formal scientist" and "assassin that's still a clown". Dr. Popee's original desing still had details of his past self as a clown, but to mix it with the concept of mercenary without loosing his key features was difficult.
At the end I leaned upon a more of a "nurse" desing (after all we have seen Popee's liking for dresses by Wakako Masuda's drawings, specially in Chinchirukurin). Really like how it resulted!
I sometimes remember I love Popee the Performer and then I get sad...
Sure we got some merch but honestly I just want content and I know currently that's not going to happen. We were supposed to get Phaeton and Me but now that's cancelled as well as Chinchikurin because while they made the show together since Wakako and Ryuji divorced she can't make the comic and they can't work on it either and it's just so- heartbreaking. I CRAVE content but I know I'll never get it and I'll always think about what-ifs because they were also asked to reboot it before and declined it.
I just wish we knew what happened with Dr. Popee or Hanabishi because while we got an ending it was a rushed one so Wakako didn't get sued by her ex husband and just AHHH
