I love Martha so much. I'm so glad she was in control of her life and chose to leave and move on rather than be killed or lazily written off.

Thank god Moffat wasn’t in charge at the time. 

I was so sad that she left, but I do love the way she did it.

I stopped watching after David tennant left TBH bc like ew matt smith anyways I watched about 13 episodes with Amy pond in them and I wasn't a fan either. Haven't seen Clara either. however, rose was my favourite bc she was the first and imo I just loved all of the funny moments with her mom & 9 lmao anyways, I said I wasn't white because I didn't want you to say that I sound white or something bc Martha isn't my fav

I know, but do read what I said because that’s just a general notice and personally I get a lil jumpy when people come in like “I’m not white” and think that excuses racism (mostly I see it with non-black POC being anti-black)

I have to say I preferred Rose’s mother to Rose. And I did like their dynamic. It’s just Rose and the Doctor specifically didn’t mesh with me at all - I dunno, I didn’t see any amazing chemistry or anything out of the ordinary or different and new vs any other companion.

And I stopped watching after Matt Smith too because I didn’t like him at all. David Tennant was really cool and got me into it for a period, but honestly I prefer Christopher Eccleston and thought he was WAY underrated.

Martha wasn't helpless, but all of the other companions had a more likeable personality imo (not white k thanks)

Honestly, I liked Donna as well but I never got what the big deal was about Rose and Amy Pond….and that’s when I stopped watching because Donna and Martha were the only two women who A. kept me engaged and B. seemed to actually assert themselves in their own right?

And being white has nothing to do with it. Anyone can internalize the idea that black women are inherently less likable and be punished for the same behaviors praised in white women.

Not saying that’s your reasoning, but I can see why you threw the “not white” in there and I’m letting you know that doesn’t exempt you.

Maybe I'll finally be able to watch Doctor Who again.

Same. Honestly, I loved watching when Martha was the companion, and I stopped when she left. 

Too bad most people can’t see past their racism to realize how amazing Martha was.

i just heard a noise that sounded an awful lot like the TARDIS and got really excited for a moment... before I remembered that Doctor Who is, in fact, fictional and the lovely TARDIS-like sound was probably just a kid on a scooter.
