DARIA: "Psycho Therapy" [S4 Ep08]
DARIA: "Psycho Therapy" [S4 Ep08]
...Continued from night of 5th November (Saturday):
We get into a boat chase mini-game with Dr. Bacon weaving in and out between rocks and avoiding the line-of-sight of the pirates' guns. It was pretty intense, and we died once, but managed to eek by on the 2nd try.
...
It is the morning of 6th November (Sunday), and we are officially in Chapter 5 - Frozen Passage! We need to go back to the Sea People Village and talk to Suwam to guide us to the Glacial Passage... But first things first!
We are introduced to a new mini-game mechanic - GYAO! - a Tamagotchi-like game where we raise digital fish on Dave's phone. We'll be visiting it on our next play session, as today is pretty long already.
Finally, Dave gets an email from the Cucumberholics about the Cucumber Party happening in 3 days! We need to serve dishes that contain Cucumber for this party, but first, how do we get Cucumbers? Looks like a job for Otto!
...Continued from evening of 5th November (Saturday) at Bancho Sushi:
Immediately after our night dive, Dave goes in to Bancho Sushi to check on the place and Bancho. Bancho says he took some measures to make sure the restaurant is earthquake-proof since it crumbled last time, but he's not sure it can withstand a series of strong earthquakes...
Dr. Bacon comes by to check on everyone...
...and also to check up with Dave on his progress with the Sea People. Dave tells Dr. Bacon that the Sea People are falling sick due to the rising sea temperatures, and to find out the cause he has to go down to the Glacial Area and investigate, but there are Gadons down there which do not make him feel safe. Dr. Bacon then tells Dave that it would be an honour to sacrifice himself for the Sea People, even if it means getting frozen! Dave looks at him offended and aghast!
Then Dr. Bacon changes the subject. Typical...
Dr. Bacon sits down and awaits for beer to be poured... But who's this before opening time?!
Basically, a singer named mxmtoon pops by and wants Dave to make her a dish called Chirashi Sushi. Bancho says the dish contains Green Sea Urchin which is a bit challenging to find. mxmtoon says she wants to go into the sea and look for them herself and wishes to tag along with Dave on one of his dives. We are to give her a call to come over when we are ready.
A new VIP appears - Wang Pang "The Master Chef" - for Yui's new program called "Challenge the Chef" featuring Vincent Yamaoka!
Apparently, Bancho is the defending champion for this season's "Challenge the Chef", since he was praised "last season" by Vincent Yamaoka. The first challenger for this season is Wang Pang from Hong Kong. The theme for the dish they will be cooking and competing against each other is Chinese Cuisine! More specifically, a Chinese-style Fish dish!

...Continued from evening of 19th October (Wednesday): ...
Cobra is ecstatic about the find of the century of real, living Sea People. However, Dr. Bacon cautions against broadcasting this find to other people as poachers would start appearing to capture the Sea People.
Instead, Dr. Bacon suggests making a Translator to figure out what the Sea People are saying. He would need a Microphone from the sunken ship, a Stone Tablet from the Sea People Record Chamber, and an Amethyst mined with a pickaxe from 100m or deeper.
Dive No. 38 saw us dive to a record 178m depth, while harvesting lots of roe.
Next, we are called up by a reporter for the magazine Weekly Fish, named Udo who can't dive and needs our help taking pictures of the fish in The Blue Hole. This unlocks for us a new mechanic of a Photo Spot, where we can take pictures of living creatures, and then bring those pictures to Udo to claim rewards.
Back at Bancho Sushi, we enhance the Stellate Puffer Nicogori to Level 2. Then we plan the Evening's Menu : -
Stellate Puffer Nicogori - 234 gold/serving, 5 servings
Tiger Shark Sushi - 110 gold/serving, 7 servings
Giant Trevally Sushi - 75 gold/serving, 14 servings
...for a total of 26 servings for tonight. We decided to serve 2 less servings than the maximum potential of 28.
And indeed, just before time ran out, we ran out of dishes to sell to our customers, which proves that the maximum 28 customers can be reached with our current staffing. We also found the night's service to be particularly challenging with lots of cleaning of dirty plates, especially without Liu around.
In fact, we failed to clean a dirty plate in time for a customer and lost 0.3 Score, giving us a 4.7 Score for the night. Our Top Seller for the night was the Stellate Puffer Nicogori at 5 units for a total of 1,240 gold. Our Total Sales was 3,422 gold, Total Expenses crept up to 453 gold, giving us a Net Profit of 2,969 gold.
It is the 20th October (Thursday), and the Tuna Yacht Party D-Day! We have just 2 more dives to prepare for tonight's party celebration at Bancho Sushi!
Meanwhile, Otto is calling Dave to tell him that the fish in the farm yesterday have multiplied! Midway while explaining the new fish mechanics, Otto remembers that he left behind a son whom he hasn't seen ever since he was marooned from his ship a while back... Odd. I'm sure this story would come back later on...
We send all excess fish above the 2 required to multiply the fish in the tank, to Bancho Sushi to serve as ingredients.
In the meantime, on Cooksta, we have posts about the Stellate Puffer Nicogori dish we served yesterday from Suha_p, as well as a post from Bancho talking about our highest quality wasabi.
...Evening Party at Bancho Sushi on 16th October (Sunday): -
Dave tells Dr. Bacon about his encounter with the two Sea People he saw after defeating the Giant Squid. Dr. Bacon says that if we go down into the depths, we might encounter the Sea People again because that is where the signal is strongest. He even theorises that the Sea People might be living in a village.
Bancho tells Dave that the challenge of preparing the Giant Squid Tentacle for a private party meal was difficult but fun.
Dave raises a mug of beer to toast his associates for a job well done running Bancho Sushi thus far.
Far off in the distance, someone is spying on Dave and company and loading their guns...
The next day, 17th October (Monday), Dr. Bacon arrives with a bad hangover hurling over his boat into the sea. He also instructs Dave to use the Deep Sea Headlamp to venture into the depths to find the Sea People.
In Dave's mailbox, a new email arrives from the Blue Hole Tourism Committee about an upcoming "Tuna Yacht Party" to be held in 3 days time! Like the previous "Jellyfish Party" where a lot of EDM party-goers arrived requesting for jellyfish dishes, we can expect a bunch of wealthy people to arrive at Bancho Sushi demanding expensive tuna dishes.
Cobra tells Dave he will introduce us to in-season Tuna fish catching later in the afternoon, when he will bring a tool that can catch tuna.
Meanwhile, on Cooksta, Bancho and Yoshie post pictures from yesterday's impromptu private Squid Party, albeit of different shots: - Bancho capturing everyone present at the party, while Yoshie focuses in on Bancho preparing the food.
On the Weather app, it confirms that today's (17th October) weather has indeed changed: from the previously forecasted Rainy day to Sunny. The Rainy day forecast has instead been pushed back to tomorrow, 18th October and the day after, 19th October. Let's hope the forecasts stay accurate for the next 2 days.
...
It's the morning of 13th October (Thursday). Dr. Bacon swings by to give Dave the artifact that he took from the Chamber yesterday, it's called a Sea People Bracelet and it helps Dave survive for a certain period after running out of oxygen. Dr. Bacon also wants Dave to venture deeper to find the Sea People Site, but in order to do so, Dave needs a Deep Sea Headlamp. Dave says he'll need to contact Duff to see if he can help procure the headlamp.
On Cooksta, there are new posts about the Great Barracuda Sushi we served yesterday, as well as a post by Dr. Bacon about the photo of the Merman Mural in the Sea People Record Chamber Dave took yesterday.
We pop by Bancho Sushi to spy on what our staff do in the day.
Also on Cooksta, we have met the Number of Followers condition for a rank up to Gold, which is 100. However, we have not met the Best Taste requirement yet for our dishes.
To Be Continued...
It is the afternoon of 12th October (Wednesday), where Dave is on Dive No.23, going into the Sea People Record Chamber.
Dr. Bacon asks Dave to go around the chamber to investigate various points of interest like a pillar and moss-covered mirror, the big mural on the wall and a painting of dolphins and marine plants. After that, Dr. Bacon tasks Dave to take a photo of the Ancient Sea People Mural on the wall, which depicts a great warrior king of the Sea People.
Dave then spots a moss-covered Sea People Artifact on the ground. He goes over to pick it up for Dr. Bacon and next thing he knows, he hears murmurings of a strange language coming from the walls which Dr. Bacon didn't catch across the radio. Dr. Bacon takes the artifact and mural photo from Dave and heads back to his lab.
Next, John Watson representing Sea Blue, a radical environmental activist organisation, pops by to read Dave the riot act for detonating a bomb underwater. Cobra tells Dave they are a terrorist-like organisation that goes after small businesses instead of large corporations who do more harm to the environment. Cobra speculates they are taking bribes from the larger corporations. In any case, we are warned to be wary of them as their actions are usually violent in nature.
Dive No. 23 saw us obtain Iron Ore somehow, and some Giant Trevally Meat. We didn't break any records, but there were some surprises in the fish and resources we obtained.
Bancho comes back to us about the Applicant List for the Internet Ad we ran. We see Raul (yet again!), and 3 other new applicants: Davina, Charlie and James.
We are also finally able to craft the Red Sniper Rifle using the Iron Ore we found from the last dive.
