my thoughts about Star Trek: TNG - S5E6 - The Game
(but more about Data | Brent Spiner...)
So, there's something I wanted to say. Something I couldn't get out of my head.
I rewatched the episode 'The Game' a few days ago and I still CAN'T deal with how Brent Spiner was acting...
BECAUSE:
It. Was. So. Damn. Good.
Especially thinking about how the crew was affected by the game etc. and how Data appeared to help... The look on his face was so DETERMINED - and I loved it.
For playing an Android who's wanting to become more human, who's longing for that kind of hard goal, this scene got stuck in my head. Why? Rewatch it, watch the look on Data's face and you'll understand!
Brent Spiner isn't like any other actor out there, at least for me... He is a pure professional and there's no way you can deny that. You can't compare his facial expressions on screen to other's, simply because there's no one as good as him. His acting is amazing and you can see that. Switching into the characters roles, (like other actor's do to, I know that), but he got that little SOMETHING that is there. That what makes it so special when he is seen on screen, which I can't really describe...
for example:
Manhunt for Claude Dallas
You can instantly see he's made for the role as Jim Stevens.
Phenomenon
another great example of Brent Spiner's acting: Doctor Bob.
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge
one of my personal favorites (besides Lieutenant Commander Data of course): Earl Mills.
I just love how he puts something from himself in every character he has ever played. May it only be a simple smile or a quick gesture. This man is not only good-looking with a lovely sense of humor, he is what I personally think an actor should be like. And in my eyes, he'll always be one of the best to ever exist.
Kermit: “I’m Gonzo’s emergency contact.”
Rowlf as Dr.Bob: “So you’re here to pick him up?”
Kermit: “I’m here to remove myself as Gonzo’s emergency contact.”
I don't know if this reference was intentional, but I found a familiar face in Dr. Bob's SCP-783 video.
I love off-brand food names
Theres just something about them, idk
