HEROES (2006-2010) Chapter Ten: Six Months Ago
What if, the Discovery successfully completed the mission and everyone came back to Earth. (And maybe HAL still made the mistake, I am not sure if Dave and Frank here are "alive").
Chandra and SAL can accept HAL not performing well on space but cannot accept him forget about Yoga LMAO.
Computer needs computer to fix muhehehe.
HAL and SAL are humanized, or you can see it as some kind of concretization of program debugging.
Dr. Chandra always has been a rather simple man. He loves the quiet time of the morning when no one yet is awake, enjoys the sounds of the birds outside and most importantly, a cup of steaming hot Earl Grey tea with just a little bit milk in it.
In these wee hours of the day, he also muses about his past and his possible future, what it has in store for him and his androids. He already was able to morph the Way people think about AIs and Androids in general, at least a little bit. He made sure to use his money for campaigns that further this goal of his. It helps that Chandra is a constant guest at the White House now, since he is regarded not only top notch when it comes to dealing with AI stuff, he also functions as a sort of ambassador for them. Especially since the incident with Prime AM and the ensuing chaos that followed.
But he also knows that he is not going to life forever, a fact that makes his mind heavy most of the time. What will be after his death? The Sanctuarys future was safe already, either Sal or Hal would take over it after his death. Yet, something else gnawed on Chandras mind and while he tried to suppress this feeling as good as possible, it still comes up now and then. With a sigh he leaned back in his comfortable chair he was sitting in currently, sipping on his first cup of tea today. Looking out from the windows of the living room area, Chandra could see the Sanctuarys beautiful garden in all of its glory. The sight itself gave the scientist a sort of peace already and he smiled to himself, closing his eyes for a moment to enjoy the calm hours of the morning, wondering what today would bring...
"Good morning Dr. Chandra!" It was Hal, the young android was pretty much nearly fully grown by now, working at the University himself as the scientists assistant. A job Hal enjoys very much. "Isn't it a little early to be awake for you? It's your free day today after all, isn't it? The young android inquired, walking over to his creator with gentle footsteps.
"I know, Hal. But I felt getting up a little earlier today, just for the sake of it." Hal nodded and put a hand on the others shoulder, smiling. "I know" The android replied, staying at his father's side for just a little longer.
Happy Hal and Chandra meeting Halman.
Fandom: 2001 ASO
The first character I first fell in love with:
That's easy. Hal 9000
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
I'm gonna go Frank for this one.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t:
Heywood Floyd. Sorry, but I can't get over the conspiracy to murder Hal (which, in the 2010 book, included drugging Chandra. Also in the book, he mentally makes fun of a fat woman.)
The character I love that everyone else hates:
I don't think there is an answer for this......
The character I used to love but don’t any longer:
......or this.
The character I would totally smooch:
Hal 9000 again. XD.
The character I’d want to be like:
I don't have just one, I'd kinda like to be a mixture of Dave, Frank, Hal, and Dr. Chandra.
The character I’d slap:
Heywood Floyd again. And the US government.
A pairing that I love:
Halman (Hal 9000/Dave Bowman)
A pairing that I despise:
Floydra (Heywood Floyd/Dr. Chandra). Sorry, I just don't see it happening, especially after the whole plot to murder Hal, who is basically Chandra's son (the book literally introduces Chandra by saying "....he grieved only for his lost child, Hal 9000." and compares them to a parent and son multiple times. Almost like Clarke was trying to tell us exactly what Hal is to Chandra.)
