Is anyone else like super skeptical of the ink illness being knowledge born? Like I'm surprised more characters weren't sceptical about it, I feel like Elizabeth is straight up lying. Sure Elizabeth is a seer but she has not shown trustworthy qualities in face of how she handles the illness. Like idk if I'm reading this wrong but isn't it implied that Elizabeth and her team are willing to KILL the people that knew about the illness. Also with that why is the list of angels so long? How does it keep popping up in the Upper if Elizabeth has meticulously tried to erase knowledge of the illness in the Upper. AND not ONLY that but a list that spans over such a wide period of time. Alice can obviously feel emotions but she's not Hannah or David, she can't detect lies. And of course she wants to trust the grandmama who she has loved and respected for her whole life. Maybe I'm just not seeing the evidence presented but if that is the case then WHY did characters like Bendy and Ortensia still get it. We LITERALLY see Bendy have symptoms of the ink illness before he even met Wilson! WHY DOES BENDY FEEL GUILTY WHEN HE KNOWS HE GOT THE ILLNESS BEFORE HE KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT! And Ortensia didn't even know WHY she started randomly melting into ink. I don't think any of Dr. Oddswell's older patients (Steven, Granny, Jerry) came across any knowledge of ink illness before they got it. Also if it was truely knowledge born then EVERYONE we know would have it. But we know that you're either vulnerable to the sickness or your not. I don't think the math is mathing.

If anyone has any evidence for the illness being knowledge born please tell me cause I feel like I'm going insane for how sceptical I am of this piece of information. But until further evidence comes to light I think Elizabeth is untrustworthy and a lier. I feel like she's up to something, she HAS to be.

Cuphead: I mean, small animals are more vicious. It's because their anger has less space to be bottled up in.

Dr. Oddswell: That's ridiculous. Give me one example of this.

Finley: Spiders.

Holly: Wasps.

Alice: Terriers.

Boris: Bendy.

Bendy: No, I'm actually kind of depressed.

Dr. Oddswell: Good, I'm glad that you're not high. Keep up the good work.

Dr. Oddswell: Actually, Bendy, you have three different diseases from stress, and another two from handling it so poorly.

Dr. Oddswell just banned overly specific nicknames and the whole house is just staring at Rat Snitch Jerry the Good Time Ruiner.

Oddswell: I know it's unusual. I was surprised too.

So when I'm bored I sometimes reread previous chapters. And something caught my attention in chapter 67 from inky extras. When Bendy had an attack Oddswell hung close by with a needle, and I know the same was when Blue Fairy died. What's in that needle? A rune or something that'll help them ? I 'unno, I don't think it's that important to know but im a curious hazard sometimes.

Oh boy. Never thought I’d be answering this one since it’s such a small detail, but one my background wouldn’t allow me to skip over. Whelp...

If it were something that could help the attack the doc would give it at the first signs of someone having one.

As it turns out it’s something he keeps on him when he has stage three subjects. It’s, well, his way of being merciful. It’s a type of anesthesia to help the person relax if he thinks they aren’t going to make it. They’re already in so much pain and now their own body is melting away in a horrifying fashion. It’s not a pretty way to go.

I don’t say it outright but the doc’s house isn’t just the questor’s homebase or the doctor’s research station. It’s a hospice home for the worst cases that are willing to make the move. He’s working his tail off trying to change that, to save them, but right now that’s what Oddswell and Red Hood have been doing. Making the pills, spreading information, and trying to find anything and everything that helps...and caring for the dying. Not everyone with ink illness lives with the doctor after all. There are even some with later stages of the illness that don’t want to leave family and friends. So Oddswell will go visit them often as long as they live close enough, but we’ve all seen how fast an ink attack is.

Sorry. That’s really depressing. It’s just one of those little things I have there that makes sense to me. I guess it’s a bit of a look into Oddswell’s head too. He may act like a distant professional but he cares. That stuff isn’t cheap after all. It’s little things like this that have kept Red around despite his quirks and stubborn nature. It’s that kindness that had Wilson come to him about the illness in the first place, that convinced Wilson to send the boys his way. He knew Oddswell would look at everything logically and with sympathy. He doesn’t care who or what comes through his door, if he can help he will.

He’s just terrible at showing it.
