i was thinking about dr3 again, but specifically about Yukizome, Munakata, and Sakakura’s relationship especially back in high school. I’m sure all three would be super close, like despite the tension through all of them because of their feelings and what not. I mean, could you imagine them though, just being dumb high schoolers--sneaking into each others dorms at Hope’s Peak to squish onto one bed for a sleepover, even though it would be considered improper, they wouldn’t care because it’s high school, and who tf is gonna say anything about it?? Shoving each other around, making inside jokes, doing stupid friend stuff, making Munakata unravel from his strict politician’s demeanor, and make Sakakura chillax and stop being so rough all the time, and Yukizome let’s herself calm down and not worry about others, as she’s so good at. It’s just a cute idea.

Pretty sure the 16th is hagakure -WHICH MAKES NO SENSE but whatever. I - liked the ending? I'm happy it ended this way, actually, I just feel like there's a lot missing - as it is it's too big a mood shift from the last episodes of despair and future, so it doesnßt feel entirely believable

yeah it was like suddenly everyone’s problems disappeared? i felt like it was ryouta’s brainwashing taking effect somehow at first. i would have liked if the mood started to shift a bit after ryouta cancelled the countdown, not have everyone despairing of course, just everyone to say bittersweet things but still want to hold on to hope (a bit like munakata did i suppose? after seeing the closest persons to you die like that i’d hope you’d feel at least bittersweet though...)

naegi becoming the new headmaster is just weird though, there were so many things wrong with hope’s peak and i don’t think someone in their late teens/early twenties can deal with them with only hope

and i guess hagakure was the 16th, but it really makes so sense, he didn’t have a bracelet and wasn’t part of the game...

This is about kirigiri, right? I wished they had skipped the fake-out entirely, actually. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. (also there probably wasn't one too many storyline in dr3, I think? particularly in side future - the dr3 characters took screen time from the dr1 characters, so we couldn't really follow them, and the dr1 kids took attention from the dr3 characters so it was difficult to get invested in them enough :( that was a bad choice, i think)

yeah me too, they did way too many fakeouts. i actually did they didn’t do the asahina fakeout before instead because monaka’s relevance to the plot ended up being almost... nonexistent? having miaya be there and talk about the neo world program would have been so much better (i liked the idea of her NG code being talking because it would keep her from talking about it for a long time)

yeah i agree! the dr3 storyline in future ended up overlapping in despair too. i think it was for us to become attached to the new cast but they really should have focused on them on future side more since it was the anime where they were most relevant. the fact that so few of them survived ended up making the whole thing pointless too, in the end. i thought for sure ruruka or at least juzo would have made it out alive too but apparently it was too much to ask :/

i really wish the plot for having the sdr2 class fall into despair was more gradual but since the anime didn’t really focus on each character separately, i guess it makes sense that it didn’t. i’m glad we had some good mahiru and impostor moments, though (and that peko vs mukuro fight)

Well, since Tengan is dubious and how Mitarai conveniently got a message as soon as the power for the monitor had run out, I think the message he sent might be a “Thank you for everything” or “Congratulations, you won the game” kind of thing. Which is then followed by the despair video. Junko doing the same in that despair episode makes me think that will happen.
