Sure thing, Anon!! Thank you for the request! Here's some Sam for you!

You sat on the bench inside the quinjet. You held your head in your head as you tried to catch your breath. The fight had been brutal, but by the skin of your teeth the team had won; another city saved, another villain foiled.

Tony set the jet to autopilot and huffed as he sank in his chair. Steve slept sitting up with his arms crossed and Nat scrolled through her phone while rubbing an ache in her knee.

Sam sat beside you and handed you a bottle of water.

“Thanks,” you tried to smile.

He nodded.

You’d chosen a seat away from the others. It helped to be alone and in the shadows, it was easier to wind down that way.

“You good?” Sam asked with what little energy he had left. “That was rough.”

“I’m fine. You?”

“I’m good.”

There was a long pause between you. Not out of awkwardness or dislike but simply exhaustion.

Sam looked over at you. “You took a pretty nasty hit from that blaster. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone bounce back so fast. What are your powers again?” he joked.

“Elasticity,” you teased.

He laughed.

“No, but seriously,” You nudged him, “That was nothing to you plummeting nearly to your death. Thank goodness Stark caught you.”

“Yeah, I owe him one, but don’t tell him I know. I want to see how fast he’ll bring it up.”

“Oh, before we walk off the jet, I’m sure.” You were confident in that.

“Probably,” he agreed.

You tried to shift in your seat and winced at the pain it caused you. Sam sat up in alarm.

“What’s wrong?” he reached his hands out as if he were going to grab you but didn’t know if he’d make things worse.

“My ribs,” you huffed between sharp breaths, “I think I broke a few.”

He cursed under his breath.

“So much for elasticity,” you smiled.

He tilted his head. “Seriously, what can I do?”

You shook your head. “Nothing, Sam. I’m just glad you’re here. That’s help enough.”

He noticed something and then opened your jacket from your side. “You’re bleeding.”

“But, not a lot right?” You knew it was unlikely by the look on his face.

“Nat! I need a med kit back here!” He was in front of you instantly, carefully removing your suit jacket. He helped you lay on the bench as Nat arrived with the kit.

“Dang, kid, way to take a hit,” she smirked.

“Tell Stark to speed this thing up,” he demanded.

She scrunched her nose. “Easy, lover boy, I’ll tell him.”

Sam didn’t acknowledge her and turned back to you. “Just hang on, okay. We’ll be home in no time.”

You grabbed his hand. “Sam, I’m fine. I just need a little bit of patching up. I’m not going anywhere, okay?”

He nodded.

You looked at him with a grin. “Lover boy?”

He tried to hide his embarrassment. “She’s just-”

“Who’s the lucky girl?” You asked with closed eyes. You were getting so tired. Maybe you had lost a lot of blood.

You felt something warm on your cheek, then realized Sam had just kissed you.

“You, so don’t crap out on me now. I just got the nerve to do something about it.” He smiled as you looked at him.

Rough Day - Steve Rogers x Reader

Author's Notes: I feel like I'm really bad a writing fluff so I hope this turned out okay @unleashthebeees. I adore you and I hope you are doing well!

Prompt: (not from the list) You snap at Steve after a bad day, fluff ensues. ;)

Word Count: 450

If one more thing went wrong you were pretty sure you were gonna combust.

You’d managed to spill your coffee on your favorite shirt, run late to your morning meeting because Susan from accounting wouldn’t stop talking about her knitting club, You’d lost your earphones, Been yelled at by you boss for something that wasn’t your fault and now You stood at your apartment door looking for your keys.

“I swear if I lost them I’m gonna scream,” you mumbled.

“You okay?” Steve asked.

You jumped and screamed.

He chuckled. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-”

You cursed. “Why did you do that? You know I hate being scared! Why are you even here!?” You screamed at him.

He stepped back and swallowed.

It was then that you saw the flowers in his hand. You were too angry to care. You rummaged through your purse again and finally found your keys. You opened your door, rushed inside and slammed it behind you.

You threw your stuff down, fell onto your bed and cried.

At some point you must have fallen asleep because when you woke up it was twilight outside. You heard noises in your kitchen and remembered Steve.

You felt sick. You didn’t mean to yell at him.

When you walked into the kitchen you saw flowers on the counter and takeout on the dinner table. He’d even lit candles.

“Hey,” he said quietly when he saw you. “You okay?”

That was all he had to say and you teared up again.

“I’m so sorry!” You walked to him and he held you in his arms.

He kissed the top of your forehead and rubbed your back. You told him about your awful day and listened as he led you to the table. You continued to vent as you ate and then he ushered you to the couch.

“I’m sorry you had to deal with all of that,” he said as you lay in his arms.

“I’m sorry I snapped at you.”

You felt him shake his head. “I understand. Listen, I’ll draw you a bath and you can relax for a bit while I clean up here, okay?”

You sighed. “Are you serious? What did I do to deserve you?”

He kissed you deeply. “Go on. I’ll be here when you get done.”

When you finished Steve had cleaned the kitchen, and set up the living room for a movie night. You curled up against him and he let you pick your favorite film.

“I love you,” he whispered mid-movie.

“I love you too.” You said with a quick kiss. And you fell asleep in his arms while his thumb drew little circles on your palm.

The Best Thing - Steve Rogers x Reader

Prompt: 51. My parents asked about you

Word Count: 680

 You didn’t think it could get worse.

 You and Steve had dated for a little while in high school, if “a little while” meant two years. But as senior year drew to a close you both decided to split before your different colleges did it for you. You’d talked it out and long distance wasn’t going to work.

 Then you found out Steve didn’t get accepted into his big fancy college and that he’d be attending State with you.

 For the last three years you two had managed to avoid shared classes and friend groups. You weren’t sure how but you had.

 Until now.

 You and Steve not only ended up in the same Lab together, now you’d been assigned to do your final project together as well. The assignment that made up over half your final grade.

 Steve sat across the table from you with a forced smile. “Hey.”

 “Hi,” you said politely.

 It wasn’t that you hated him or anything, you just thought you’d never see him again. And you’d gotten used to that.

 “So I was thinking we could brainstorm a bit and then after we settle on an experiment we can divide the research. Sound good?” You looked up from your laptop to see his response and were met with that stupid grin you loved to hate.

 “Always the girl with the plan, huh?” he smirked. 

 “Well, one of us has to have a plan.”

 Steve squinted his eyes. “How’s Mark?”

 You frowned at the name. “How’s Kelsie?” 

 Steve clenched his jaw. “She cheated and left.”

 “Oh.” You hadn’t expected that. “I’m sorry. Well, if it makes you feel any better, Mark broke up with me.”

 Steve looked shocked. “What? Why?”

 “Do we really have to talk about it, Steve?” You looked at him exasperated. 

 He shook his head, “No. I’m sorry. No, we don’t.”

 You nodded a silent thank you and looked back at your laptop.

 You two brainstormed for a while, picked a project and divided the research, just like you’d planned.

 The next week you met up and discussed the next step of the assignment.

 Halfway through the study session Steve looked up at you with a careful expression. 

 “What?” you asked.

 “My parents asked about you,” he said quietly. He reached across the table and took your hand.

 You pulled away slowly. “Don’t do that.”

 “I told them we had a class together and we’re working on a project. They invited you to dinner this Friday.”

 “I don’t know. I think-“

 “I can’t believe Mark let you go.”

 “Steve-“

 “No, seriously, y/n. You are the best thing that could ever happen to anyone. I don’t get how he could possibly be the one to leave.”

 You sat and bit your lip. “Well, he did.”

 “Y/n, look at me. Can’t we give this another shot?”

 You thought hard before you answered him. “You’re only saying that because you’re heartbroken and I’m familiar.”

 “First of all, she didn’t have my heart. She never did. And second, you’re not familiar, y/n, you’re home.”

 You were stunned.

 “I tried to forget you. Believe me, I did. I dated a lot of girls trying to get you outta my head. None of them could replace you.

 “I was an idiot in high school. I never should have said we should break up. Even before I found out I didn’t get into Berkeley I should have fought to stay with you. So please, don’t make me suffer any more,” he smiled at you. “Come to dinner with my parents. Let me try again. I might not deserve a second chance but I swear on my life I’ll make it work.”

 Somewhere in that speech you’d teared up. You sniffed and wiped your eyes. “Wow.” You chuckled to play off your tears. “That was pretty good.”

 Steve took your hand again. “Convincingly good?”

 You laughed and looked him in the eye. 

 He smiled, “Come on.”

 “Tell you what,” you said, “I’ll go visit your parents with you. As friends. And then, if you and I make an A on this project, I’ll let you take me out on a date.”

 “How about a B?”

 “B+,” you countered.

 “Deal.”
