‘ a sweet & shy first kiss ‘ with peter pan ;
( °. IT HAD BEEN anticipated for years now – an event, both the most likely as well as unlikely thing to happen between peter and wendy – yet as the moment finally came around, wendy didn’t know what hit her… a pink and orange tinted sky indicated that the sun was about to set, wrapping up a day filled with adventure and innocent fun. today had been a day like many others in the past, yet something was different. because for the first time in what seemed like years, wendy felt truly f r e e. she’d laughed as if she didn’t have a care in the world; ran as if there was no chain holding her tied back; flown as if she truly had the wings peter was so assured of she had. today, wendy had felt like a child. dauntingly naive and sweetly innocent, unaware of the messes all around the world. it had been just her, peter and the lost boys – adventuring, just like during the good old days. they’d wandered all across barrie, not looking for anything in particular but some simple fun.
if you’d asked wendy, she’d tell you the day went by too quickly. honestly, she wanted it to last forever – to not feel a single sorrow, to be surrounded with her friends… and p e t e r. oh god, she could spend every second of every day by peter’s side and not get bored. ever since the first night she met him – when he’d tumbled into her room through her window with the boy-ish, charming grin which he still, up until today, sported and still, up until today, made her heart beat faster – wendy had been intrigued (infatuated even, some would say ) by this boy who called himself ‘ leader of the lost boys ‘. peter always had such charisma, making her believe his every word without even fully understanding what it meant – little did young wendy darling know who the last boys were, but there was not a shadow of doubt in her mind about whether or not he was their leader – and it left her absolutely mesmerized.
“ today was… incredible. “, the words left her lips before she’d even realised she wanted to share her thoughts – it just came out, as if she needed him to know. her head was resting on his shoulder, her brunette waves cascading down his chest as they both laid on their backs, staring up at the sky ( watching how day turned into night was one of the things they’d always loved to do, together – just see the pastel colours change into deeper, darker ones, the stars appearing one by one ) as the enjoyed the last hours of the day, side by side. “ i didn’t… i didn’t know i needed this until… until now. “, wendy continued, a soft smile tugging at her lips as she turned her head, rolling over on her side and popping her head up on her hand as she looked down at the guy who had been so many things to her over the years – so many things but the one thing she actually wanted him to be, so bad. “you know, my life would be pretty worthless without you. i mean, i know i wouldn’t know the alternative, but… it wouldn’t have been so filled with joy, and adventures, and fun. “, her voice was soft as she finally felt the courage to share how she felt. god, she had been suppressing these things for years. granted, when she was younger, she probably didn’t even fully understand what it was, exactly, she felt towards the boy. but as she grew older, and began to show more interest in romantic novels instead of the good old adventure ones, wendy started to see… she had a crush on him. the way her heartbeat went up whenever his name was mentioned, how a smile tugged at her lips when her eyes caught sight of him, how she wanted to spend every single moment of the day by his side. but peter pan didn’t like affection, or feelings. and she had always been too keen on their friendship to risk losing it over… over a crush.
but today… today had made her realise she liked him. that she didn’t just want to be his friend, his little bird. no, she wanted to be… h i s bird. h i s. and if now wasn’t the perfect time to tell him, than it was bound to never happen. “ peter, i … “, she began, however her voice fell silent as he looked over at her, his eyes immediately finding hers which made her voice hitch in her throat and a shadow of doubt ghost over her. how was she supposed to tell him what she felt ? without scaring him of ? for all she knew, the feelings could not even be mutual. but she wouldn’t know, if she never tried. because words didn’t seem to come out anymore, the brunette decided to not think too much about it anymore – it was now or never, she thought. and… it’s just peter. with that mantra repeating in her mind – it’s just peter, it’s just peter, it’s just peter – the girl bravely leaned in and with her eyes firmly closed and her heart beating wildly in her chest, she did what she’d always wanted to do : her lips found his. despite having kissed before, for some reason, wendy seemed unable to move her lips. as if she’d forgotten how to do it; as if she was afraid to scare him off. but when he didn’t pull away, wendy’s instincts took over and she slowly parted her lips, her free hand traveling up his chest slowly until it reached his cheek. when he still didn’t pull back after that ( and tell her how gross it was, how he doesn’t like kisses or didn’t understand ) the girl deepened the kiss a little and to her surprise, peter actually kissed her b a c k. honestly, she wasn’t sure how long the moment had lasted – but right then and there, it was just him and her, their lips moving in perfect sync albeit slowly. “ i… “, she whispered after pulling back ever so slightly, her lips still merely inches away from his as she bit down on her lower lip. “ i really wanted to do that for so long. because i… i like you. i like you so much. “, a sentence which could either be the beginning of something beautiful, or the end of it.

( °. THE ANNUAL PROM of barrie’s high school. neither peter nor wendy were high schoolers anymore – yet that didn’t keep them from showing up. some of the lost boys were seniors, and the young pair had agreed on chaperoning them. all of them were in for some harmless fun, and because peter and wendy never went to prom together – well, of course they went to prom in a little group, when they were still in high school, but they never went together t o g e t h e r – they decided ( read as, peter finally gave in to wendy’s countless whines about how lovely it would be ) that it would be nice to go to prom one last time – an ‘ end of an era ‘ kind of thing – but this time, they’d bring a date. and not just any date… peter and wendy would be each other’s date, which pulled ‘ oohhh’s ‘ and ‘ awww’s‘ from the lost boys, and a pretty obvious ‘ i knew this was going to happen at some point‘ smirk from john.
prom had been exactly how wendy recalled it to be : a beautifully decorated gym filled with semi-wasted teenagers who had been sneaking in some alcohol ( because that was what the ‘ cool kids ‘ did, right ? ) and were now either throwing up in the bathrooms or dancing like they were having the night of their lives. from the second they’d arrived, wendy had pulled peter out on the dance floor and it was pretty obvious that the two of them only had eyes for each other. hands wandering dangerously low, lips being bitten teasingly, eyes who said more than a million words… for the first time in her life, prom truly felt like a dream come true ; like dancing on cloud nine, surrounded by butterflies, fireworks being fired in the distance each time lips got locked, not matter how briefly.
wendy wasn’t exactly sure who’d given them punch diluted with alcohol; when the buzzing feeling running through their veins had gotten enjoyable, daring her to kiss him a little longer, or encouraging him to let his hands travel a little further south – what was sure, though, was that about two hours past midnight, peter and his little bird tumbled through the window of her bedroom. the previously silent room soon got filled with giggles as the brunette rolled over on her side, searching for peter’s hand in the dimly lit bedroom, only so she could pull him closer to her. once she felt his chest heaving against hers, a smile tugged at her lips as she leaned in to press them against his in a hungry, kind of sloppy kiss. “ are your parents home ? “, peter mumbled in between kisses and giggles, causing the brunette to nod and pull back. “ yes… oh god, yes ! peter, they are ! oh no ! what if they heard ? what if they come in? “, her eyes widening at every word that fell from her lips in a rather slurred manner.
the girl didn’t waste any second as she attempted to crawl up from the floor as gracefully as possible, hastily reaching for peter to pull him up as well. she hadn’t really thought about what she wanted to achieve with her action though, so when the guy forcefully stumbled against her ( the result of him nearly jumping up while she was still tugging at his hands ) the brunette lost balance and fell back on her bed, peter pan landing on top of her which made an ‘ oufh ‘ fall from her lips, followed by a giggle. “ peter ! “, she whisper shouted as she hit his arm softly, still chuckling : “ be silent ! or my parents will hear ! “. with a cocky smile, peter reminded her how he could be even more silent than a dead parrot, before bowing his head to close in the space between them, his lips finding hers once again. after wrapping one of her legs around his, wendy let her fingers carefully unbutton his shirt before she allowed herself to discover his chest – his skin feeling silky underneath the tips of her fingers – until the cold metal of the thimble around his neck touched the back of her hand. after firmly wrapping her hands around the necklace, wendy pulled him even closer whilst deepening the kiss, her tongue playfully darting across his bottom lip as a smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. it is safe to assume that this year’s prom was wendy’s favorite – by far.
‘ a reunion kiss ‘ with peter pan ;
( °. FIVE YEARS. THAT’s about how long peter has been gone for. frankly, wendy didn’t know why the young man had wanted to leave barrie again. finally, everything seemed to fall nicely together in their lives. they’d found each other, at last – but then he took off. only this time, he hadn’t asked her to join him. one day, he just went… if his departure had been hard on her the first time ( when they were just kids, and everything between them was just childlike innocence ) it sure was heart-wrecking to her now that there was m o r e than just friendship. for nearly a year, the brunette had been in a rut. no one managed to cheer her up – not even peter’s cards every once in a while made his absence any more bearable.
so many things happened while peter wasn’t around. believe it or not, but john got engaged. deep down, the girl had always hoped to be the first one to get married. though she was extremely happy for her brother – besides, she’d always wanted to help arrange a wedding, are you kidding ? this was going to be fairytale – secretly she wondered whether, if peter hadn’t left… maybe… just maybe… he would’ve popped the question. then again, that’s very unlike peter pan, right ? it was already a miracle the guy eventually agreed on kissing and cuddling, showing a more affectionate and loving side of him. no, it was probably safe to assume peter dislikes weddings. so that could cross out the option of him showing up at john’s, right ? despite the marriage being of his best friends…
when the day of the marriage finally came around, wendy was probably even more nervous than her brother and his bride to be. rushing around the wedding location, the brunette wanted to check every single thing one last time, making sure it was all perfect. the guests started to arrive, and wendy made sure to smile and greet everyone as she waited outside the beautifully decorated chapel. it looked like a fairytale, and wendy was actually quite proud of the result. maybe she should consider wedding planning as a profession… a curly, brunette lock had escaped her up do, blowing in her face as she watched the last people enter the chapel. after wiping the strand out of her features and behind her ear, the girl saw something that made her heart stop for a second before continuing its beating, only thrice as fast. was that… peter pan ? in tuxedo and all ? wendy had to suppress the urge to hit herself in the face, just to make sure she wasn’t dreaming this. was he really here ? after blinking a couple times, the brunette had to accept he was really standing there, in all his glory – the guy who had caused both the biggest heartbreak and greatest joy in her life. the smile on his face still had something of the cocky boy-ish attitude he’d always sported, his hands effortlessly dug away into his pockets as his eyes met hers. how could he leave for years, only sending a couple cards a year with ‘ warm greetings ‘, leaving it up to her to guess whether he’d actually ever return ? what would be left of them, when he did ? and then show up at her brother’s wedding, unannounced, looking more handsome than ever before, making her insides tingle.
wendy hadn’t realised she’d been staring until suddenly, peter was way closer to her, addressing her as ‘ his beautiful little bird ‘, the smug grin still on his features. if she weren’t so peace-minded, the brunette would consider smacking it off – merely to show he couldn’t just leave like that and then turn up unannounced, five years later, at her brother’s wedding. he sure hadn’t lost any of his audacity at… whatever places he’d been visiting. “peter pan – what are you doing here ? “, she asked, a pretty stupid question. however, she didn’t wait for his slightly confused features to produce an answer as she threw her arms around of his neck, not wasting a second to engage into a sweet, ‘ it’s been way too damn long ‘ kiss. “ god, i missed you so much, you… you… jerk. “, the brunette mumbled against his lips before going in for another kiss.
‘ a tired morning kiss ‘ with peter pan ;
( °. FOR THE FIRST time in… what seems like years, honestly… the girl woke without a heavy feeling resting on her chest, ushering her to try and fall back asleep, to escape into a dream world which, for the longest time, was pretty much more interesting than her real life. but – not this morning. and it wasn’t because of the beams of sunlight falling through the curtains of her bedroom or the fact that it was saturday. it was the person laying beside her, breathing steadily, looking like an absolute gift send from heaven. his reddish locks messily framing his porcelain-like features, looking so peaceful and sweet in the dim sunlight.
after popping herself up on her side, wendy took her time to examine every single detail of peter’s face. she didn’t get to do this very often – because each time she gazed over at him and her eyes lingered longer than they should have, the guy reminded her how she was staring, causing her to look away with a blush on her features. grinning cutely at the memory, the brunette brought her hand up to her friend’s face to push some messy strands of hair away from his forehead. the soft gesture made him stir briefly, a silent groan erupting from his chest as he shifted in his spot. it made a loving smile tug at wendy’s lips. he sure was cute… especially when he was all sleepy.
when peter mumbled how early it was, the brunette leaned in before placing a sweet, sloppy kiss to his lips. “ good morning to you too… “, she whispered, her lips still brushing his. “ the sun is shining… do you really want to sleep away a beautiful day like today ? “, wendy asked, the smile never leaving her features as she rested her chin on her forearm, her chest pressed against his as she kept her gaze fixed on his face as he fought consciousness. “ peter pan, you’re so cute when you’re sleepy. “, she giggled as she brought her finger up to his nose to touch it briefly before letting it caress his cheek and jawline. god, even though she loved getting up early, she surely could spend all day in bed with peter, just watching him drift back off into slumber, cuddled up against his chest.
