Hi LOVING the game so far ^_^ Quick question, how many characters are backer made characters? I think you mentioned Shelly was one? Thank you for all your hard work!

There are three backer-created side characters and one backer-designed extra.

Shelly, Dracen and Kaya were all made by backers and integrated into the story.

Rayna existed as an extra (though her name was different) but she was renamed and redesigned according to the specifications of one of our backers.

Comparison time!

This is the only new picture I had done for the 2018 version (Nora didn't exist int he 2017 version). There are things that I like about the old version - Nora looked a little manic and Dracen looking annoyed and self-conscious - but overall the new version looks so much better!

I do love the changed that I made. Like, Magnus looks like an old wise mage instead of whatever the hell I was going for in the old version. (Ah, it's nice having figured out beards.) Davin's the only one who kept his old design (more or less), but the outfits I have now are awesome! And while I love Evangeline's mohawk, the idea of her having a edgy hairstyle that she can convert back to normal hair fits the world a bit better. Plus, I 'see' her with longer hair now. *shrug*

I do think it's funny how Nora has a nicer dress than Illy does. I was tempted to redo Illy's dress to match a bit more, but I thought it was hilarious that Illy looked more peasanty than the actual peasant, lol.

In any case, it hasn't been that long since I did the first version, but seeing the improvement is still nice!

Twenty year comparison! This is, like, the very first picture I drew of the story, I'm pretty sure. I had no clue what I was doing with Ivy there, let me tell you. Draco looks cool. But Dracen and Illy look way better. Love these comparisons!

(They do look a little stiffer now cuz I think I was trying to make them look like they were going around the yin yang there, but honestly, it makes more sense this way.)

I wasn't sure which version to do, since the one with all the versions of this is...kinda long, so I also included one of the original version with the newest one just for, like, a ;tldr sorta thing, lol.

So yeah, the first one is 2005 | 2015 | 2017 | and 2025

and the second one is 2005 | 2025

or a twenty year difference. Sadly, the biggest changes in my art were in my first ten years, and then my second ten years have been stagnant...sort of. Like, there's definitely improvement, but not wildly huge improvements like between 2005 and 2015. But oh well. Improvement is improvement!

Still, always fun to see!

so can dracen only touch virgins? 🤔

LoL. No he can touch anyone.

But in some folklore only virgins could ride unicorns. So the joke is that Dracen carrying someone in his human form is similar to that person riding him in his equine form. So Dracen can only *carry* virgins.

Dracen is a backer character from Changeling’s Kickstarter campaign. And we had a lot of hilarious conversations with his owner about some of his quirks. The idea of Dracen only being able to carry people who are virgins was just a funny little joke we came up with and decide to put in the story. LoL
