Oh, it's worse. It is so much worse. Not a skeleton, but a full on corpse. A skeleton can be wacky, mysterious, an aesthetic once its picked clean and devoid of any hint of life. There's something grisly about in the in-between stage.

And weird, too. This body has no shoes. A pompadour, a zip-up shirt, shorts.

It lies there, dead as a doornail...then a green light flares. The body jerks on the spot, then it's sitting up. It's coughing. It smells like mouldy cheese.

And yet, when red, pin-pricked eyes behold the group in front of it? him? the figure gawks. Points.

Starts SCREAMING. Really, really, hollering.

OKAY. OKAY. Everything's okay. A rockslide should have spelled certain death for them both, and indeed, while he'd managed to avoid the rubble and emerged unscathed and with little more than a bit of trauma, it had separated him from Alma. She had reluctantly gone to get the Hunter's help, though not without some thorough persuasion from Nata.

He would be lying if he were to say he wasn't a little shaken up himself, Tasheen's final words to him before he was forced to flee that fateful day still rang in his mind, even after all this time. Be strong!

He had to be, especially when he realized he could hear the voice of another child on the other side of the rocks. "Back?! What do you mean? H-how far back?!" The other child sounded alive and well, in fact, incredibly calm for how distressing his situation should be.

Clutching his pendant tight in one hand, Nata began to gingerly step backward from the rockpile, casting glimpses over his shoulder while unsure of the other boy's request.

His voice is a deep, layered, echoing. Under his icy skin, the dull glow of him pulses faintly in tune with some heartbeat.

Arktos extends a massive hand, moving each finger one by one, the crackle loud and crude, like something mechanical that hasn't been oiled.

"two thousand years, and you ask what happened? lifetimes. I saw a role set before me. a story whose beats would not be denied. I recall little of my youth, but I was not who I thought I was. Isvic, the gentle, innocent creature, never existed. I was a travesty waiting to happen."

his cold eyes land on the girl. resolute, and unfeeling.

"you know what it is to discover that everything you thought about yourself was a lie. Your purpose, the very reason you were alive. I was alive to be the death of spring."

what happened was that it hurt, it all hurt so badly. He missed her so much. He missed them all so much. But the pain was so bad, he didn't want it to happen again. So he left him behind.

Now she is here before him and he feels...nothing. He drops his hand. Resigned.

"Only some people get happy endings, little dragon lure. It is better not to hope for something, than to do so and have it taken away. Having it taken away..."

his hand hovers over his chest, clenches, the dots misshapen coal dotting along his face as a mouth twists.

"you thought you escaped your role? you didn't. it just wasn't the one your father gave you. What happened? I accepted the way things are."

Koa ran up towards her friends, Melody, Tabaluga, Lilli and Palomine and called out "Guys, guys, guys! It's Halloween! We have to go candy hunting together! Let's go candy hunting together!" She cheered excited as she jumped up and down.

"Oh, hello there." The small red-cladded vampire takes a moment to dust her lab coat off before facing the other. "Our apologizes if all the loud noises awoke or disturbed you. We are collecting materials for fuel." Both Vendra and her friend were taking turns breaking large rocks and carrying them back beyond the trees it would seem.

"We should be done in approximately...one hour and two minutes." And with that she just kind of turns back to continue her work. The necessary explanation is over and talking is no longer required.

"Goodness, I don't think I've seen a stone golem that agitated in a long while. Are you alright? I...don't have any medical supplies on me but I do have my magic."

"I'm surprised you can see me at all, kid! I'm... not really alive, perse." How was he going to have to explain to t.abaluga that he's a spirit. That he's not able to eat or sleep or even be able to interact with others. Maybe because they're of the supernatural world that ghosts COULD be seen. Or perhaps it was because they had seen things that no kids their age should.

Mika stops for a moment, their feet hovering above the air about 6 or so inches. Mika had come through this world through a special door.

A 'rift' as he likes to call it. A cut through time and space to enter into this plane of existence. It's peaceful here for what it seemed like. Just no danger. No worries. No death. Just... peace. Something Mika liked. It reminded them of the tropical beach outside of the night club. Where it wasn't full of pumping music and strobe lights that danced in the way of Mika trying to vibe. Here? Nature is where he's always wanted to be.

"It's nice to FINALLY be seen without having to use my fake body. I mean; I probably SHOULD use my fake body so I can walk and talk with people normally, but I guess I just wanted to look around without people questioning who I am or what I am." Mika would cross their arms below their belly. "I'm... a ghost, really." No use sugar coating it, was there?

Koa sat near a frozen lake, surrounded by nothing but snow and ice. Along the path she had walked, she had left several snow angels and snow sculptures, which, however, lacked any artistic talent, and half of them were already collapsing.

Nothing that really seemed to interest Koa, as she knelt on the ground to create her next work. This time it was a snowman's turn.

With a wide grin on her face, she kneaded and pounded the snow into solid snow balls when her attention suddenly shifted from her work. Blinking a few times, she seemed to gaze into the vast nothingness and listen to the silence surrounding her.

There she heard it again: two voices in the distance that seemed to be laughing. Curious, Koa quickly got to her feet and brushed the snow off her clothes as she walked briskly in the direction of the noises.

As she finally crested a slippery hill, she saw on the other side a green dragon and a girl with white hair at the bottom of the hill. A wide grin immediately spread across Koa's lips as she called down, waving both arms.

"Heeeey, heeelloooo. Up here!"
