In a bout of exam-avoidance, I decided to join an arpg on deviantart called Draco Stryx, which is about Big Bird Dragons.

So here’s some doodles in my sketchbook as I try to learn how to draw the stryx I designed (named Coda) and his rider (a musician named Kate).

I imagine Coda showed up on Kate’s property while he was still a hatchling and started stealing all the food that she leaves out for stray cats. At first she thinks he’s a raccoon and tries to catch him, but then finds herself the adoptive mom of a little angry dragon. Many hijinks ensue.
