Your alligator hydra species concept is very neat and I want to know more. Do they have any cultural conventions or superstitions surrounding which side of the body a person is oriented? Are there any stereotypes about singletons?
Singletons are often stereotyped as being more socially inept, course and short tempered - they also are often considered more athletic, so that adds up to a sort of “dumb jock” stereotype.
the species would have mostly been left handed if not for the incidence of conjoined twins, so it often takes a touch longer for the righty to get equally dexterous as the lefty - not long, but long enough that lefties are considered capable sooner. This adds up to creating a sort of pseudo-birth order effect. It’s so mild many forget about it completely, but some go on feeling like “don’t worry I’m here I’ll take care of everything” forever!
