[𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐬(?)] 𝑽𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊 𝑫𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒈𝒏 𝑫𝒓𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒔
God… where do I even begin?
Here is the second part of me trying to figure out my Persona Venti design for my Persona Crossroads AU, and I might not even use them (≖_≖ ) If you’ve read my first lore dump Tumblr post about the au, you’ll find that I’m currently going through another crisis in regards of who my protagonist’s persona should be, but even if I do end up sticking with Venti, I can’t say if I like these drafts enough to use them as the final design (especially since I made a good chunk of these while utterly burnt-out), but hey! Here they are anyways for your perusal in case you were curious ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ
When designing these, I wanted to lean more into Venti’s Archon outfit since I wanted to leave the bard outfit for a third awakening (even tho I’m not a fan of his Archon outfit lol). I added a halo to tie into an alternate form he has for lore and made his twin braids longer with cecilias threaded through them (inspired by @blehbet-arts’ Aeon Venti drawing) for dramatic effect! I would have also added eyes everywhere to but couldn’t figure out if it would make more sense for the extra eyes to be open or closed, and in my indecisiveness, left them out entirely (╥﹏╥)
The first design draft was inspired by a cool Zhongven fanart I saw on Twitter (I can’t remember who the artist is though since I can’t find the artwork anymore though I did use the Venti’s outfit in that drawing as the inspo for this design) where Venti had harpy-like wings instead of arms and I thought it was the coolest thing ever, so I made a design based around it! ( ˶ˆᗜˆ˵ ) Unfortunately, a lack of actual arms meant I wouldn’t have been able to do what I had in mind for the original pose where I envisioned Venti holding his lyre in one arm and the orb from the Mondstadt statues in the other, but then I remembered this one drawing I saw by @gierosaji of Witch Venti from their Madoka AU and got so freaking inspired, so I made the wings lyre (or I guess harp?) wings! ฅ^>⩊<^ ฅ
The second design is based on another fanart I saw (but was unable to find the artist’s name again (っ◞‸◟ ς)). I… found myself really struggling with deviating away from the original fanart because after the first design, I had this weird “confirmation bias” in my brain that really liked the harp wings but felt like I had to experiment with various ideas just to cover all bases. In the end, I ended up utterly burnt out and frustrated with this design and a good chunk of the others, and as cute as this design ended up, I don’t think it screams Venti. "( – ⌓ – )
Because the burnout has robbed me of whatever originality I may have had, design 3 is basically a copy of a gierosaji’s Boss Venti design. Design 3 was honestly something I had to force myself to make so that I’d have 5 drafts, but on account of lack of originality, this one can’t be considered a candidate for my make-believe design poll. As freaking awesome as the eye of the storm inspo is in gierosaji’s drawing, it definitely wasn’t working in mine since the pose of my Venti muddles the whole silhouette up. Though if I do end up sticking with Venti for Arilette’s persona, I would probably mix this Design 1 and 3 together, somehow…
Once again, I practically had to hold myself at gunpoint to make design 4 which is why, once again, no originality and practically a copy-paste of a Venti drawing made by zen_krt105’s because I wanted to try a more Wind-Wisp-themed avenue and got tired of keep on keepin’ on-ing (っ- ‸ - ς)
Design 5 is when the slight I was starting to feel inspired again (too bad it’s the last draft (╥﹏╥)) Although I took some inspiration from aliciarose’s fanart of Venti in Greek-inspired garb, I tried to incorporate some other ideas such as ornaments that resemble eyes (since throughout all of this, I still haven’t made anything with eyes as a theme) and a veil I think I saw in another fanart that inspired me. Unfortunately, I don’t really like the final result ᵕｰ́_ｰ̀ Not only do the eye ornaments make me squeamish, but the veil just doesn’t look good (¬_¬)
If I do end up sticking with Venti as Arilette’s persona, I think I’ll probably scrap most of these drafts and redo this phase of the design process all over again x-x Some cool design ideas I picked up since I made these were harp horns! ( • ̀ω•́ )✧ An artist on Tumblr by the name of woolmasterleel made a P3 Protag design for their AU with lyre horns and that is def an idea I want to experiment with (,,•o•,,) Another one was this one Zhongven fanart I saw by @noredemptionarc on twitter where Venti had a cute outfit on, feeling inspired ngl •⩊•And yeah, that’s all the notes I can remember, lol
