Emi woke up. No. That wasn't right. Waking up implied that she was in a bed. At her home. Safe. Emi came to. She was laying on the hard ground of some cavern. There was a metallic taste in her mouth, almost like old pennies. Blood. Emi staggered up onto her feet. She held her head, snow glazing over her already blurry vision. It took her a moment, but she finally got herself together and stepped forward. And that's when she saw it. The creature lying on the opposite side of the cave. It's black eyes seemed to have a glow in them, despite their lifeless and dull color. The feathery mane was sticking up, almost like the fur on an angry cat. It hissed at her. Emi, being herself, hissed back. She bared her teeth. That creature could easily take her down with a single swipe of it's massive paw. Emi recoiled and stepped back. She looked over the mess of scales and feathers, watching how it trilled and writhed on the ground. There was a spear in one of its hind legs. Emi drew in a deep breath. She took a few steps forward, and flinched when she got hissed at. "You sound like me when people come near," She didn't know where she was and how she got into some cave. She had no idea what happened to her, but I didn't matter. It was obvious that she wasn't going to get any answers anytime soon. So, she decided to follow something different. Sharp teeth were bared at her. Teeth that could tear her apart in seconds. "Cut out the tough guy act," The creature trilled and tried to stand when the human's hand touched its muzzle. Emi shut her eyes for a moment, taking in another breath. "It's ok. You'll be fine, I promise. I'm not an enemy." She slowly crossed over to the creature's hind legs. She gripped at some of its feathers and pulled herself up to where the spear was. This wasn't going to be easy. Merely poking the wooden stake made the dragon (or that's what Emi saw it as because she's a nerd) struggle and cry out in a shrill roar of pain. Feathers flew into the air when it squirmed. Emi nearly lost her footing and toppled over. "Stay still!" She scolded gently. Firmly, the dragoness grasped the spear with both hands. It was definitely lodged in the poor creature's flesh. She hesitated and then pulled. A sharp roar echoed throughout the cavern. Blood flew up into the air and splattered on the rocky floor. The dragon writhed violently, rearing up almost instantly once the spear left its body. Emi lost her balance. She fell, and a foot came in contact with her chest, knocking her directly into the hard wall. Another blizzard blurred her vision. And then everything went black.
