This is my OC, Landilizandra. A conversation with a friend has me wondering, what fandom, if any, do you think she is from?

Answer: None, she is from my original work, though her design has inspiration from the Temeraire series, Eragon, and Dragonheart. I wanted to see if people assume a dragon is part of their own fandom, based off of some interactions I've had before in the past, and something a friend encountered today.

Ask me about my original dragon species

Exactly as the title says, I'm interested in talking about some of the dragon species I've made for my original setting. The ones I'm specifically interested in talking about are:

Eitr Vyrms: "Generic" dragons in my setting.

Nature Wyrms: The souls of natural phenomena and landscapes.

Pure Ourobori: Dragons which can fully transform into any dragon or Urobian (definition: any being spiritually descended from the first dragon, Ouroborus; includes all reptiles, fish, birds, and amphibians, as well as some other animals).

Rainbows: Drawing inspiration from cultures around the world, all rainbows are dragons.

Basilcocks: Basilisks, Cockatrices, and other related creatures.

What if it was proximity to the brooding queen that caused a dragon's color?

What if male eggs go from bronze to brown to blue as they receive a more distant mental presence from their mother?

What if this mental brooding causes a female to go from a green to a gold, and the female egg(s) she chooses to fuss over end up as new queens?

In theory if a Queen had a clutch of only six female eggs, she'd be able to dedicate enough attention for them all to become queens.

Do you get different combinations of bird/snake species in different basilcocks?

Different combinations of snakes? No. Different combinations of birds? Sort of. Cockatrices are usually considered one species with a fairly wide range of dimorphism, since cockatrices of different origins don't reproductively isolate enough to have clear different species. But first generation cockatrices tend to heavily resemble their parents' avian species.
