🐉 DRAGON TREE 🐉

Tucked away in a hidden Appalachian grove, along the path to a cascading waterfall, you’ll find the silhouette of a massive dragon arching from the ground — long slender neck with two horns pointing from its head. Delicate facial features seem naturally carved into its bark scales.

The creation of the tree’s enchanting shape is a mystery. But some locala believe it was created by indigenous tribes who bent it to point towards a valuable water source.

There are many mysteries in the North Carolina mountains — fairy crosses, blue ghost fireflies and Moon-Eyed people. Perhaps the Dragon Tree’s true origin will remain one of those old Appalachian mysteries.

Dracaena draco grows naturally across the Canary Islands, and in Lanzarote it is especially resonant within the island’s volcanic landscape. Teguise, the former capital of Lanzarote, sits in a dry, wind-shaped environment defined by basaltic soils, low rainfall, and intense light—conditions that mirror the dragon tree’s native ecological niche. Here, the species stands as both a botanical relict and a cultural landmark.
