Here's a book I just finished. There were many relatable lines and actions in this book, which made it engaging to read, and there was another thing I really liked. The main protag (there are 2 points of view) is an adoptee. There is hardly any adoptee books in the fantasy genre, but there is also a rare quality to her. She wants to find out who her birth parents are, which is a common enough wish for those of us who don't know. But, the family she was adopted into - the Royal family, many love her just as she is and they are her real family just as much as her birth parents are. Sure there's one character who's tougher on her than his other children, but for the large part, it's like many families with adopted children, which is that is her family. And even when she does find information about her birth parents, she has a stage of disbelief but also she knows that she is who she is because of them, and she is her own person outside of them.

In any case, it's a super good book. There's a lot of dragons involved. The writing is super good. And the plot is moving - balancing out quick time sequences with interesting tidbits of detail.

And, he's a smaller known author besides. I got this book at a local place that only stocks lesser known authors, giving people a chance to support locally and discover great reads.
