Nico the crazy dragonian wizard!

Am I the only one a bit concerned over how we have NO lore on the Dragonians, no hype or buildup on them whatsoever? Because with Imperium they were an entire fleshed out society that was deeply personal to one of our main protagonists and really the backdrop for the initial conflict at all… Then there was the Wolf Clan, hyped up in Lloyd’s visions as this enigmatic threat, their masks were vital to Shatterspin, they were connected to the Forbidden Five and even got lore regarding their society and perspective in those comics.

But the Dragonians? Aside from Doc Wyatt confirming they live on the mountain where Thunderfang is imprisoned and that they were corrupted, nada. Zilch. It feels like they’re just there and hopefully the show is just hiding some cool lore! But it almost feels as if the writers just needed an army for the Five and we should’ve gotten a properly loyal Wolf Clan, and the only reason we didn’t was because of toy reasons. Hopefully there will be some worldbuilding and perspective on them through Tyr and the Spectral Dragonians, but so far it’s looking bleak.

Given this is the show called Dragons Rising and Dragon people have been such a popular concept amongst the fandom, to have the newest villain faction play out as such an afterthought in their own starring season is like… Damn, at least this treatment only happened to the Wolf Clan for half a season, and they still had other stuff to them! At this rate it seems like the sets’ mutualistic bond between a Dragonian and their dragon companion is just going to be handwaved in the show as another part of their physiology!
