Our adventures in Vietnam continued with us flying from Hue to Hanoi - a mercifully short flight versus a multi hour train ride. Hanoi is a pretty cool city. In addition to being Vietnam's capital the city has many attractions including Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum where he still lies in state. Unfortunately, we were not able to see him lying in state due to dress code and scheduling. Hanoi was really a base for us as we traveled out to Ha Long Bay for a trip on Dragon Legend (Junk). The boat, crew and food were only surpassed by the scenery we witnessed. We went kayaking, caving (Spelunking) and swimming. There were approximately 30 other people onboard Dragon Legend and we met a pretty cool group of 7 friends that were also traveling. As luck would have it, we were also staying at the same hotel in Hanoi. After our dragon Legend adventure and an "enthusiastic" happy hour (aka the most polite way we have ever been asked to shut the F up) in the club lounge at the Sheraton, we ended up going out with them in Hanoi dancing and singing karaoke! We left Hanoi on Saturday and traveled back to Ho Chi Minh City. Only a few more days left in Asia until we travel down under for the last two weeks of this amazing journey. While we are sad to be leaving Asia, I think it's safe to say we are looking forward to cooler weather. -B,L,P
