The low-lighting of the room is not overwhelming, and just enough that she can make out the space. White light streams from a nearby window; a glass gateway to a world of snow. As it falls peacefully outside, the girl slowly moves onto her side in a drowsy haze.

Echo and Pua were closely monitoring her from the side of the bed. Kip sat on the floor, guarding the doorway. Lios was looking out the window, and Leeka loomed over her on the bedframe.
Upon recognizing her mottley team, Mari scooped up those closest to her in a hug, and sucked in a deep breath as relief ushered in her chest. But now, in place of one question, a dozen more flooded her head.
