Made a Drakona Druid for a Daggerheart one-shot and I adore how she came out! She's in a symbiotic relationship with the bioluminescent mushrooms from her forest.

Jules (and Drakona) lore update

The Morbid Playwright temporarily kills, then loses, Jules. After she comes back to life, she has a bout of mania, then crashes in her suite at the Royal Bethlehem. Once she recovers, she takes to walking near Hater’s Bridge and enjoying the sights of London on foot

Meanwhile, the Morbid Playwright hires Detective Drakona to find Jules so he can finish the job, but lies about why he wants them to find her. Drakona, however, is immediately suspicious of their new client

As Jules is walking, she frequently notices a man that always takes the last newspaper before her, reads the classified ads, then leaves. This goes on for some time. When he’s finally gone one evening, she’s able to get a paper, noticing an advertisement about a woman seeking legal counsel for separation

She realizes that her old employer could help in the end stages, and that she is coincidentally there a few minutes before the designated time listed in the advertisements. With little else to do, and intrigued, she finds the woman, Agatha, and (after a brief and tense conversation) hands her Otto’s card

“I hope you take him for everything he’s got,” Jules dryly says, and Agatha only raises her head, showing her bruises. “I just want my son,” she replies. Jules frowns, and recommends she find a Licentiate instead

Then, they both hear her husband.

It all happens too fast. Jules steps in front, the acid is thrown, and the injury is permanent. Agatha screams, but Jules does not; it hurts too much to scream. The man escapes, and Agatha grabs onto Jules

Jules and Agatha take a cab to an address Jules vaguely remembers. Agatha leads her in, then leaves, and Jules catches a glimpse of herself in the window- her left hand is severely burnt, and amid the burns on her face, some of her teeth are showing

Drakona recognizes Jules from her respectable days as the Adventuring Aesthete, having no idea of the more violent side of Jules. They are more than happy to let her recover in their upstairs rooms, and view them as innocent in all regards

A few days later, while Jules is recovering, the Morbid Playwright comes to check in on the Detective’s progress. Jules hears both of them talking, and (panicking) mentally prepares to kill them both… until she keeps listening and realizes Drakona is lying about her whereabouts, protecting her and keeping her secret safe

When he leaves, Jules and Drakona have a truthful discussion about the whole situation. "You didn't tell me you worked for him", says Jules, and Drakona says "Well… it sounds like you haven't told me a lot either, so perhaps we should both fill in the blanks"

They do just that.

Jules continues to ask for Drakona’s help in finding the man who threw acid on her, and tells her about Agatha. Jules feels a surge of sympathy for the woman, and for the other people she feels she hadn’t helped enough. Drakona continues looking for the attacker, while lying to the Morbid Playwright about Jules’ whereabouts, as Jules regains her strength and wonders about a great deal of things

On a dreary afternoon, they finally find the attacker, and are informed that he’s still looking for his estranged wife. Jules goes with Drakona to confront him. Agatha’s son is with him, and Drakona quickly makes sure he is alright

Jules asks Drakona to take the child and step outside. Drakona grants her the courtesy, with a knowing look: they are familiar and comfortable with Jules’ form of ‘problem solving’, and are finally granted to see Jules as she really is- violent, yes, but fiercely protective. They lead Agatha’s son away as Jules closes the door

When Jules and Drakona leave, they are both confident the man will never bother his (soon-to-be-former) wife again, nor her son. As they leave, Jules seems uncharacteristically uncertain back at Drakona’s flat, and they pen a letter for Agatha, keeping her son under their watchful eye. Jules asks Drakona if they became a detective to help people.

Before they can answer, Jules asks them something else: what she can do to help Agatha- actually help her, in addition to the vengeance?

Before Drakona can answer, they are interrupted again: the door opens, and Agatha rushes in, meaning to check on Jules but elated to see her son. She hugs her son, and thanks both of them

Drakona gives Jules another knowing look. And Jules finds that with her injury mostly healed, she can finally smile again.

i could go on and on about these characters but for now I want to hear what you guys think of them, lmk your assumptions about them lol
