Drama Blogs That Deserve The Praise
I am a small blog, only about 120 followers, who for some reason stick around to hear me geek out about all the dramas and films I love. I am thankful for all those who are willing to engage with me in a meaningful way about our common interests. In real life, there are so few people in my circle of influence that watch Asian dramas and movies and willing to appreciate and talk about them with me, near me, or in any meaningful way. So I was inspired to take a moment to shout out 5 blogs that I follow consistently who I just think are fantastic. If you follow them already, that’s great, and if you don’t you really should. This is such a small community that deserves to engage in meaningful and fun content.
1. @kdramastuff
If you are looking for awesome screencaps on currently airing dramas (particularly some maybe lesser popular Korean dramas) this is an EXCELLENT blog and one of the first I followed when starting to engage with a Tumblr community. Consider it a must if you want to find out what’s good out there.
2. @lavenderbyun
Consistent produces or has content to discuss and some really great opinions on dramas. I absolutely love the posts on this blog and find myself in heaps of agreement with the commentary and selection that is focused on. I appreciate you and am so glad you’re on Tumblr!
3. @dramatroll
The most fun and entertaining drama memes you’re likely to see. The content is clever and sometimes laugh out loud funny --- always a nice change of pace from traditional gif sets and caps.
4. @sseureki
Secondly only to @kdramastuff, this is a blog that I regularly follow and look out for the posts. Great icons for all sorts of shows, and I love @sseureki‘s non-asian drama related posts --- very refreshing!
5. @irrational-obsessions-gottcha78
I really appreciate the commentary and tags to the posts --- So much fun to follow and super entertaining.
Honorable Mentions:
These blogs are equally good and deserve a follow as well. If I’m leaving any of your favorites out, please mention them in the comments. :-)

HI I have missed reading these and am now catching up and you probably talked about the Shinhwa song in a previous post but in case you didn't I just want to say it popped up on my spotify and I liked it right away which doesn't happen often for me with songs, even less so Korean ones, because until I catch the lyrics songs don't really make their way into my brain so uh yeah. Also HEY GIRL
SO
I didn’t know Shinhwa had a new song, because NO ONE TOLD ME and IT WASN’T ON ANY OF THE THINGS!
To be fair, they recently guested on 1N2D, so I probably could have figured out that they had a new song if I had actually thought about it . . .
Oh, and it is great, so like, there is that too. And if you haven’t seen the video yet, go watch it. IT IS SO PRETTY! Like, the Van Gogh backgrounds, the mature looks, the subtle dancing. I love it all. So A+ to Kiss Me Like That. Also, the credits are adorable, and the live version is great. I especially like the part where they are all the little spoon with the girls.
Can it win? Of course it can, I make my own rules!
P.S. If this is up your alley, I will keep an ear out for this style in the future to give you some better recs.
Also HI!

I'm not reading this because I don't want spoilers but like, should I watch it, or are your thoughts in the range of "this is a problematic show" or "it didn't live up to my expectations"?
No, my thoughts are on the debate between the two male leads, because I had many thoughts. I actually think as a whole the show is doing a decent job of being a workplace drama. I think that I came in with no expectations and was pleasantly surprised.
Of the current batch of shows, it is probably my favorite for now (with Suits blazing its way into second with a stellar first week), though I am not into many of the shows currently airing.
Oh, and the swoon factor on this show is OFF THE CHARTS, so that’s nice.
@dramajib replied to your post: so I was able to find subs and I just am so...
but girl, what about Habaek - I mean Oh Gong!
LOL yeah I wish I could love every kdrama as much as I am loving mystery queen season 2 rn

Ski the hell out of those mountains, Sam! Hope your butt's not sore when you get back
I am so SORE!!!
dramajib reblogged your post and added:
… I hope you’re ready for when I come begging you...
I got you! Though the only answer I have is that I make lots of schedules. Like I draw a whiteboard and schedule all the posts as well as some of the watching (or at least when I want to finish it by).
Oh, and never watch more than 4 full length episodes in one sitting, and always finish each full length episode. For me, it stops me from burning out on a show, while still fulfilling those binge watching needs.

damn girl I don't know whether to be envious of your binge watching skills or worried for your general life productivity
Defs the first one. I wasn’t in school for the quarter yet, so I had way too much time. I’ve stalled at episode 17 for the past week, which is only saved because of my pro binge skills from earlier.
