I am a small blog, only about 120 followers, who for some reason stick around to hear me geek out about all the dramas and films I love. I am thankful for all those who are willing to engage with me in a meaningful way about our common interests. In real life, there are so few people in my circle of influence that watch Asian dramas and movies and willing to appreciate and talk about them with me, near me, or in any meaningful way. So I was inspired to take a moment to shout out 5 blogs that I follow consistently who I just think are fantastic. If you follow them already, that’s great, and if you don’t you really should. This is such a small community that deserves to engage in meaningful and fun content.
1. @kdramastuff
If you are looking for awesome screencaps on currently airing dramas (particularly some maybe lesser popular Korean dramas) this is an EXCELLENT blog and one of the first I followed when starting to engage with a Tumblr community. Consider it a must if you want to find out what’s good out there.
2. @lavenderbyun
Consistent produces or has content to discuss and some really great opinions on dramas. I absolutely love the posts on this blog and find myself in heaps of agreement with the commentary and selection that is focused on. I appreciate you and am so glad you’re on Tumblr!
3. @dramatroll
The most fun and entertaining drama memes you’re likely to see. The content is clever and sometimes laugh out loud funny --- always a nice change of pace from traditional gif sets and caps.
4. @sseureki
Secondly only to @kdramastuff, this is a blog that I regularly follow and look out for the posts. Great icons for all sorts of shows, and I love @sseureki‘s non-asian drama related posts --- very refreshing!
5. @irrational-obsessions-gottcha78
I really appreciate the commentary and tags to the posts --- So much fun to follow and super entertaining.
Honorable Mentions:
These blogs are equally good and deserve a follow as well. If I’m leaving any of your favorites out, please mention them in the comments. :-)

Oh my, yes. Everyone started posting about the finale as soon as it was out in Japan, so you’d better do it. I thought about you, but couldn’t stop myself anyway. You know i’m weak. Meanwhile, I am having a Sayonara Elegy party here. It drives me up the wall that sony is relentlessly banning all Masaki’s videos outside Japan. It’s like they hate the idea that someone from outside the country could possibly enjoy his music.

Sunggyu looks at the map in his hands. It’s carefully detailed with cute drawings, and the little golden colored balloons seem to float around the paper on their own. The rivers and lakes are colored in with precision, and the flower petals are a very nice touch. It can only mean one thing: Woohyun.
A note is attached to the map, and Sunggyu can’t hold back his laugh when he reads it. Of course Woohyun would do this. The map is supposed to lead Sunggyu to Woohyun through a series of little obstacles (or errands, as Woohyun would say). Sunggyu smiles to himself and decides to let the map lead him to where he has to go.
The first stop is at a music store nearby. The door jingles when Sunggyu steps inside, and the sound reminds him of how happy it makes Woohyun whenever he hears it (It makes me feel more welcomed, hyung, he’d always say). Sunggyu has to ask the cashier for a playlist that Woohyun had specifically named for him.
“Your boyfriend is quite the charmer,” the cashier tells him as she gets out the disc. “He’s been coming in every day to make sure this playlist would be absolutely perfect.”
Sunggyu feels his cheeks warm up a little bit as he thanks her, almost tripping over himself on the way out.
He downloads the playlist onto his phone when he comes home (it’s easier than carrying it around), changes his clothes, and takes another look at the map. Next stop: flower shop. Sunggyu plugs in his earphones and makes his way downtown, walking fast, faces pass and he’s home bound. Why Woohyun put A Thousand Miles on the playlist, Sunggyu doesn’t know, but he goes along with it anyway (there’s so many Nell songs on the playlist - Woohyun must’ve thought he wanted some variety).
He enters the flower shop, and the task is to pick out some flowers. There’s dozens, hundreds of flowers, ranging from color, size, and type and the aroma of the shop fills Sunggyu with a pleasant feeling. He chooses a few flowers that he thinks Woohyun will love and asks the owner to wrap it nicely. The owner ties a string around the bouquet, finishing it off into a nice bow and even gives Sunggyu a small card with a sparkly looking sunflower on the front.
The map brings Sunggyu to the next destination. The park. It’s been awhile since Sunggyu has been there, and walking down the pebbled road brings back fond memories of when Sunggyu and Woohyun met up a few years back.
It was one of the worst winters that year, the wind biting at Sunggyu’s skin. His hands were practically ice blocks, despite the fact that he was wearing gloves and a million layers of clothes underneath his puffy coat. He was walking around the park like a microwaved marshmallow until he accidentally bumped into someone with the name of Nam Woohyun. Woohyun recognized Sunggyu first, saying that the last time he had seen him had been in high school. They entered a coffee shop together, Woohyun handing Sunggyu their drinks, their hands touching the slightest bit. Woohyun’s hands were soft and warm compared to Sunggyu’s own. They had sat down that day and talked about their lives; they had lost contact along the way after high school. Sunggyu wondered why he ever did. Catching up with Woohyun was like picking up where they left off. Woohyun was the same: still adorable, still funny, still beautiful.
Still Woohyun.
Sunggyu (finally) reaches the park and goes to the bench that’s drawn on the map. A note is taped onto it. He sits down, placing the flowers beside him, and reads the note. Then, Sunggyu buries his face in his hands because Woohyun is so adorable with his lovely words and his little colorful heart drawings all around the page.
It’s starting to get dark, but the map stops here, and Sunggyu isn’t sure what to do. He doesn’t have to wait long, though. Woohyun shows up and pokes him from behind, making Sunggyu yelp.
“Wow… are those flowers for me? Oh, you shouldn’t have,” Woohyun jokes. Sunggyu bites his lip to suppress a smile. He rolls his eyes instead.
“Hey, that’s because you told me to get them for you,” Sunggyu scoffs. But then Woohyun reveals the box of chocolates he was holding behind his back. Sunggyu reaches out and tries to grab it, but Woohyun pulls it back.
“Ah ah ah… before you take it… do you recognize this?” Woohyun points to the label on the front of the box and Sunggyu gasps.
“This is the one my mom used to get me when she was younger! But their store closed down… how did you even get these?” Sunggyu says as he gingerly holds the box in his hands.
“I know a guy or two,” Woohyun smirks.
“Oh, so you’re seeing other guys now, huh?”
“Are you jealous?” Woohyun wiggles his eyebrows. Sunggyu narrows his eyes.
“I’m watching you,” he says.
“With those small eyes?”
“Admit it. You love my small eyes.”
“Of course I do. I love everything about you.” Sunggyu blushes. Woohyun’s eyes are sparkling and it sends a small shiver through Sunggyu’s body. Woohyun takes his hand and intertwines their fingers together. “Come on, I have to show you something.”
Woohyun’s hands feel warm, just like they felt that winter. He takes them through a forest path and leads them to a backyard where light bulbs are strung around the trees like fairy lights, and there’s a table in the center with food already set up for them.
“Wow…” Sunggyu takes in the scenery, looking at every detail. He sees the decorated candles set up on the table. He sees the polaroids, the ones they had taken from the beginning of the year until now. He sees the pebbles from the time they went swimming together and skipped rocks on the lake. He sees almost every single memory from when they had met up until this moment. “Woohyun, this is… beautiful.”
“There’s more,” Woohyun says, biting his bottom lip.
“What more could there be? This is so much already,” Sunggyu runs a hand through his hair. How did he get so lucky?
“Let’s eat first, and then I’ll tell you.”
~~~~
“What did you think of the map?” Woohyun asks, his eyes searching for what to eat next.
“It was so tiring! You made me walk all the way to the music store and then all the way to the flower shop,” Sunggyu whines playfully. “I think my legs are sore from walking.”
“Really? I thought you’d like it…” Woohyun mutters.
“No, I was just kidding, I actually did love it,” Sunggyu touches Woohyun’s hand to comfort him and continues. “The playlist was absolutely amazing. But wait. Why was A Thousand Miles on there?”
“I dunno. You mentioned it once, and it’s a nice song, so I just put it in there.” Woohyun chuckles, his shoulders bobbing up and down with each laugh.
“I gotta admit, it is a nice song,” Sunggyu laughs with him.
After they finish, Woohyun coughs to get Sunggyu’s attention.
“What?”
“I… uh. I wrote a song. For you,” Woohyun says. He’s a little nervous and Sunggyu thinks it’s cute, how flustered Woohyun gets sometimes.
“I’d love to hear it.” Sunggyu gives him a gentle smile.
Woohyun starts out slow, his voice soft at the beginning. His voice is silky smooth and the melody of the song floats in the air. His voice is so beautiful, Sunggyu thinks he can listen to Woohyun sing all day. The fact that Woohyun composed a song for him warms his heart, and when Woohyun finishes, Sunggyu brings him closer and presses a kiss on Woohyun’s lips.
“What did you think? Did you like it?” Woohyun asks when he pulls away.
“Of course I liked it. I loved it.” Sunggyu swings his and Woohyun’s intertwined hands.
“Well, that’s a relief,” Woohyun breathes. “I thought you wouldn’t like it.”
“What are you talking about?” Sunggyu asks and his face twists in confusion. “Of course I love it. You wrote it for me. I love you and I love everything you do for me.” Woohyun blushes. “Especially what you did tonight. This -” Sunggyu gestures to where they are, “is amazing. I can’t thank you enough for it. It’s beautiful. You’re beautiful.”
Woohyun kisses Sunggyu’s cheek. “I’m glad you loved it. And me. There’s no such thing as too much love,” he winks.
if she wouldve put the dress on, in other peoples eyes it would be a dress going around without a body. tho when they were in the classroom and she was holding her pen it must've looked like it was floating in the air. or did he burn the pen too? *rolls eyes*
The worst scenes are the ones with them in the convenievce store tbh. It looks cute how she’s riding the shopping cart but the way she’s taking stuff from the shelves and throwing it into the cart like it’s totally okay is just embarassing. I guess the things she lifts do look floating in the air to other people. I wonder how it was supposed to look when she woke up under the blanket in his bed. (I wish I had a screenshot to post but sadly I’m not home). Was it blank space shaped as a person under that blanket? Why would the blanket even cover her and not go through her. About the dress, at least they had the decency to explain it. Though he didn’t make any special ritual to justify that the dress appeared on her of all ghosts. What if he burns some random shirt while thinking of her, will that shirt automatically appear on her too? I’d understand it if he burned some of her own clothes (if they knew who she was), but this scene was not much convincing.
