🖊 Since you mentioned Castys has participated in slave auctions as a buyer before, headcanon is that he buys people who are clearly in a bad way and helps them and they wind up as loyal, not-fixed-but-doing-a-lot-better members of his crew.

That isn't what I was implying at the time but honestly I can see it! Especially after being sold himself and understanding what it's like to be up on that stage, he might actually want to do something selfless for once. Of course, he'd dress it up as a way to get crew members who won't leave for any reason that he doesn't have to pay as much, but based on who he buys...his crew can see right through him

First up is Sonya! I don’t know if this is how y’all see her, but this is how I see her; except she’s got a little medical id card on her lapel. 

And Prince Rowan. I love Prince Rowan. And his newest piece with the misuse of fiber arts???? hell yeah I love it plz permanently imbue your whumpees with pain magic pls. For me. So we’ve got a normal, happy Rowan on the top with angry unhappy boi on the bottom.

Top 5 types of hand trauma?

Ooooh, I don’t know if I can pick just five. The human hand is delicate and there’s so many ways to absolutely mess them up

1. Flaying/degloving/general skin avulsion, just Peel Those Hands

2. Denailing. This one actually manages to mildly gross me out, which is a difficult thing to achieve, so therefore it’s automatically one of my favorites

3. Bites, specifically human bites. Can cause lots of structural damage even if the bite doesn’t break the skin, plus a high risk of infection from all the pathogens in human saliva and y’know obligatory cannibalism possibility if that biting involves pieces being bitten off

4. Stabbing right through the palm is particularly Aesthetic.

5. Amputation, whether it’s cutting off a finger or the whole hand or anything in-between.

and an honorable mention to burn injuries, entirely because I accidentally burnt my hand on a curling iron earlier today and that got me thinking about using burns in whump and how I should do more of that

If Neteri could graft in body parts from other fictional creatures onto Erebus what do you think she'd try?

Tbh her interest lies specifically with demons, and for this experiment it has to be demons, but if she were investigating something else...She might want to give him a fun tail or maybe venom sacs for his fangs. Nothing too crazy, though, she wants him to still be able to use all of his limbs normally and she's not going to change anything fundamental about how his body operates.

Erebus gets a bundle of letters from his friends telling him not to give up, that they haven't forgotten about him. The one from Lythia has pressed flowers in it from the royal gardens. Another mentions that they were able to recover the hair that Neteri cut off and they've each kept a lock of it.

He cries, of course he does. Part of him is mortified that they remember him, and he hopes they don't ever think about when they saw him...like that. Part of him is happy that they haven't, though, but it makes him feel guiltier for not trying very hard to escape, as pointless as he knows it would be.

He puts the flowers between the pages of his favorite book (of the ones he has) to keep them safe, and he looks at them whenever he misses home or just being outside in general. They still smell nice. And as unhappy as he still is about having his hair cut off, he's a little grateful his friends got something to remember him by out of it just as long as it doesn't end up reminding them of what he looks like with it cut short .

Was there any possible scenario where Erebus could have won that duel and not been enslaved?

Mmmm probably not where Erebus won the fight against Emperor Eldrian, since their difference in skill is far too great. Erebus is decent with a blade but he was never super passionate about learning since he doesn’t like fighting. Eldrian, on the other hand, is incredible with his axe, and he’s won countless battles in his conquest. Erebus’s father, King Talos, had a better chance than his son, but he was still very likely to lose. Eldrian only proposed the duel between him and Talos because he assumed he’d win and wanted to reduce the number of casualties.

Mm yeah probably it's not really in his nature to be overly suspicious and I could def see him taking every link he saw online at face value

Castys, what's the worst way you've ever died?
