1) What was the first video game you ever played? I am so bad at perspective on screen the first time I tried to play a car racing game I couldn't even understand how to get it to go forward.
2) If you could dye your hair ANY color right no, what would it be? Either pink (I envy Kofuku her hair is great) or a sea-foam green—but alas, my job requires me to have normal colors.
3) Have you ever been to a psychic/medium/card or palm reader? How do you feel about that experience? Nope! Could be fun though.
4) I love the water, so I ask: Beach, Pond/Lake, or Pool (and WHY)? Large bodies of water are one of my phobias for who the heck knows why (I’m blaming living in the desert for most of my life) so pool because you can see the bottom and you can drain it if something goes wrong. Also it’s cleaner (apparently).
5) When you are stressed out, how do you relax/unwind? If it’s task related, I generally drink a rockstar, take deep breaths, and think, “I got this!!” a lot until I get confident enough to do the thing. If it’s anxiety related I have to sing “Silent Night” for some reason (and wearing a hat helps to calm anxiety I’m not sure why.) Or, I go to my mom’s house because there’s always free food and friendly cats and also my mom is the bomb (and there’s a chance of Star Trek playing on the TV there).
6) Do you like rollercoasters/amusement parks? Any faves? I am a very much dweeb when it comes to anything adrenaline related so nope no rides ever. Mostly I just get really motion-sick and then I am gross for the rest of the day. I do like amusement parks though, for some reason. I guess usually I’m with friends who are having a good time, so I take the opportunity to be the mom friend and carry their cameras and food.
7) If everyone had their own personal hell for eternity, what would yours be? Being forced into buildings or social situations I’ve never been in before (or else an elevator. Just and elevator).
8) What is your biggest “NERD” (i.e. ‘anime’, ‘science’, ‘computers’, ‘literature’, etc)? Oh man lit is my thing I am such a lit nerd.
9) Be honest: Fight or Flight? Whatever “duck and cover” counts as. I am a turtle.
10) If you could have ANY animal on the planet as a pet, what would it be? OKAY BUT DOES HAPPY FROM FAIRYTAIL COUNT BECAUSE I WANT A FLYING BLUE CAT but if it has to be a real critter than tiger for sure. (meow!)
11) “Book vs. Movie” and “Manga vs. Anime”, thoughts?
Basically I am very frustrated that people are so angry about media changing forms. I think it’s great! I tend to see media as sociological data, so seeing the same work in a different form, for me, tells me a lot about the audience, the work itself, and it’s affect of society and culture. There are inevitably disappointments (because, as a consumer of the original work and as a human, you don’t want anything to change—and that means you want the exact same experience, more often than not), like Dumbledore looking different than you expected, or the writers not including some of your favorite bits (“hump the moist cave wall” comes to mind), but this doesn't mean that the new form of media is bad. (okay so sometimes they make grave mistakes for example Caspian is a child he should not be a handsome young love interest for anyone CS Lewis would be ashamed of all y’all) What it does mean, however, is that humans experience media differently and therefore anything produced by this will be different, just as your reaction to eating honey will probably not make you break out in hives, but it will totally make me. I personally think we should take works made after the original as a really fancy form of fanfic—except it’s accepted by the original creator (generally, unless they are dead, then I guess we’ll never know). Breathe in, breathe out, and appreciate the work that went into the film version of your favorite books because that means someone else consumed the media too and made a thing. Appreciate the thing. (I totally wrote an essay about this trying to make sense of my thoughts so be glad I didn’t post that.)
My Questions:
1. If you had a superpower, what would it be? (To be clear, I’m asking what it would be, not what you would want it to be :D)
2. Favorite holiday or tradition?
3. If you could replace one of your current teachers/bosses with any of the teachers/bosses you’ve had in the past, would you, and why?
4. If you could take over writing for your favorite ongoing show/series, would you?
5. If you could bring back any cancelled show, what would it be? (I will take movies that were supposed to get sequels as well)
6. Most people have that one thing they always have to buy brand name. What’s yours?
7. Are you the “Mom, he’s touching me!!” sibling or the “I’m not touching you!!! I’m not touching you!!” sibling?
8. Fruit flavors or chocolate flavors?
9. What do you use libraries for?
10. If you could tell 5 year old you something, what would it be?
11. TELL ME ALL ABOUT YOUR PETS BECAUSE PETS ARE THE BEST
