The topic that I would like to develop in my AU
It's strange that in the first season, Toffee's technology is so underdeveloped. A monster from the perpetually beaten-down ranks, devoid of resources and magic, suddenly demonstrates advancements comparable to magic itself: teleportation, force cells, radars. Why then wasn't any of this utilized in the battle against Mewni?
Personally, I'm not fond of the idea that these technologies are merely goods from other dimensions. It's far more interesting to believe that among monsters, there are still creators capable of creation and development even under conditions of extreme poverty. It's a juxtaposition of technological progress versus natural magic, where the former is the fruit of perseverance and labor, an ascent from nothing. The latter is almost always a ready-made gift, passed from hand to hand, not requiring the same level of effort to master (take Star, for instance).
Technologization, so often portrayed as a soulless evil that goes against the natural order, here acts as a tool of liberation. It raises the standard of living for all monsters, rather than concentrating power in the hands of a few, as magic often does, frequently serving merely as an instrument of power and control.
