Thank you all of you for the incredibly fast response to my call. My inbox is flooded with drawing requests from friends and new people. I feel incredibly blessed and truly humbled by this!

Currently I am working on forming a reasonable drawing schedule. Please, message or email me if you don’t see yourself on this list! most likely my cabbage head missed your message while jumping between emails, Tumblr and Patreon inbox!

For those of you who already made Patreon pledges I am eternally grateful and will work on your requests first. Hopefully there will be no delays longer than a couple of days!

As for everyone who hasn’t made one yet - please, wait until I get through my first batch of drawings, as i would hate to make have you worried over not receiving your commission long after you paid for it!

My gratitude to all who have reached out truly has no bounds! You are my life savers! I will try not to disappoint any of you and deliver the best results possible!

My new drawing schedule cuz my shoulder is a bitch is:

Monday: yup

Tuesday: nah I need to get some inspiration and some exercise

Wednesday: most likely yeah

Thursday: eh nah. I will walk and take photos instead

Friday: hell yeah

Saturday: pff no

Sunday: hell no

I might not be able to draw 6 hours on something each day like I did in the past. I will now keep it to 3 hours each day cuz that is how much time I know I can handle without my shoulder saying that I need to rest or else.

Creating a Drawing Schedule

Q: At what point should I move on from studying one drawing subject to something else?

A: A varied schedule keeps things fresh AND the different subjects (gesture, anatomy, light and form) complement each other. Learning to draw buildings in perspective, for example, will help you draw portraits, because the face is a symmetrical subject and you have to draw all the features in perspective to make it look right. Black and white drawing will help with color painting because you understand values better. Plus, studying the same thing for a long time gets boring. Learning to draw should be inspiring, exciting, and challenging!

Creating a schedule: Let’s say you draw 5 days per week. Monday and Wednesday you can practice gestures for an hour as a warm up, and then work on a longer drawing for a few hours. Tuesday and Thursday, work on Loomis head construction for an hour and then work on a longer drawing. On Friday you study anatomy for an hour and then work on a longer drawing. That longer drawing can be a new one every day, or the same long drawing the whole week. After a month or two of each warm up, analyze and see if you should swap them with something else. When you feel like you haven’t practiced something for a while, throw it back in to the mix.
