what are some of your dream pack headcanons??? im super curious!!!!

i am a child of 2016-2019 dream pack tumblr so I am a faithful lover of @f0x-meets-w0lf 's art of them, so that's the baseline I'm working upon for reference

I'm a huge skov/swan lover but obviously they are all locked in varying degreed of fucked up gothic slightly toxic codependant homoerotic emotionally repressed romance with each other. i think that due to the rural appalachian rich kid setting im sure they all have internalized homophobia to some degree, some more than others (im looking at you kavinsky and swan) but they love each other so much that they always come back together even through it.

swan has a big family and was the second oldest, and grew up loved but never focused on with all his siblings. he grew up in richmond but he got a full scholarship to aglionby because of his soccer, good grades and good behavior. i think he was very much in survival mode until he met the pack, starting to actually live because he finally felt understood, but still finds it hard to connect emotionally and meet skov at his level, which leads to the classic chase game of swan pulling back and skov taking it personally. whenever they fight, swan has a girlfriend for a week and it drives skov insane. his favorite color is red. he doesnt talk about it much because he also has a lot of internalized toxic masculinity, but he thinks history is fascinating in a morbid kind of way. the pack only learns ab this when swan starts sleeping at k's instead of the dorms, and he brings his half a library's worth of nonfiction. he worked on cars with his father + older brother when he was young, which was the first thing that got him talking to the pack when he saw their tuners in the lot at school.

skov grew up a pretty neglected only child in california, always getting into trouble and rarely seeing his parents but fighting with his father when they did. the first time he got caught at a party, his father paid for his release + to illegally amend his record, but sent him to aglionby on the recommendation of one of his colleagues who was an alumni, saying it "straightened him out" in his youth. skov has anger issues out the wazoo and is a huge crashout when he doesn't have someone to leash him. swan and proko will always hold him back, kavinsky will egg him on, and with jiang it depends on who skov is fighting. if its kavinsky, jiang will egg skov on, but he cares too much about skovs education to let him get suspended. skov lives and breathes sports, and when he isnt playing, he's partying. he hardly ever slows down.

jiang on the other hand was a pretty pampered only child, having a pretty alright relationship with his mother and a relatively neutral one with his father. his mom is probably a supermodel or something like that, his dad is a little older and they are absolutely not in love. he grew up a mama's boy, but due to her work she was always travelling. i've always thought of jiang as having some level of psychic ability, mostly in the psychometry in a somewhat similar way to calla but a little less prominent. he honestly mostly uses it to cheat in school, but was the first in the pack to learn about kavinsky's dreaming because of it. jiang is the most level headed of the pack. he will either be the voice of reason, or know that whats happening is dumb and let it happen for the plot or to let his friends FAFO and hope they learn. this choice is usually aided by his clairvoyance if he gets any insight from his abilities. hes drawn for most of his life, starting in fashion sketching because of him mom and moving more into illustrative work as a hobby. he taught himself how to tattoo and has laid much ink into the skin of his friends

prokopenko was the youngest of several brothers, all very successful and overachieving men. they are all within a few yrs of each other except him, who has a few years gap with his closest brother in age. he's pretty sure his mom cheated on his dad, his brothers all have dark hair, a paler complexion and are average height, and proko has always had fairer hair and a bronze undertone to his skin. his father has always been chilly with him, supposedly over his sub par grades, but prokopenko thinks he knows. he grew up in new jersey and went to the same school as k from a young age but they didn't become friends until well into middle school, and even then weren't close until kavinsky punched one of prokopenko's bullies. when kavinsky killed his father, he showed up at proko's window and asked him to come with him to henrietta where k's father had sent his mother after rehab. they've only been managed to be seperated by death, and even that didn't last. he's very prideful and hates being babied. he has a camera and likes taking photos, of the pack, their cars, things he sees, anything.

swan/skov has the classic avoidant4anxious attachment push and pull and before they started being friends/fwb/whatever the unlabeled thing they are is, they had intensely homoerotic soccer competitiveness that they now settle in the bedroom

jiang/kavinsky have a strained relationship, but they're especially close. jiang was the first addition to the pack besides proko, they raced the mitsu and the supra for the first time and kavinsky's shitty driving lost him the race. kavinsky is the only one who knows about jiangs psychic ability, and i think jiang is the only one who knows about k's dreaming, at least for most of the time these five knew each other. they bond over art and will draw together a lot

skov/jiang have a very caring relationship. jiang doesnt show it, but does feel very intensely and deeply the same way skov does and they understand each other well. partly assisted by jiangs psychicness, but skov doesn't know that.

jiang/proko is very much livestock guard dog and lamb vibes. proko follows his heart blindly and jiang has a small bit of resentment towards kavinsky for letting proko trail behind his path of destruction, but at the same time knows they love each other too much, and proko's very being is now tied to kavinskys so he just tries to keep proko safe and taken care of when kavinsky can't or won't.

swan/jiang have a good understanding with each other, both of their goals usually being to keep proko and skov out of harms way while also making sure kavinsky doesn't die or some shit. they're the quiet pair, not having an awful lot in common but they are very comfortable in each others company.

skov/proko is v much loud best friends energy. proko is an extrovert and skov likes to party but hates people, so proko brings skovs social side out and skov gets proko litty as a titty. they feed off each others energy but will sometimes get into it over dumb shit because of skovs temper and proko's defensiveness.

kavinsky/swan have a pretty tense relationship, kavinskys sweeping ownership of the pack including skov driving him and swan to be rather competitive. at the end of the day, swan knows skov belongs to k, and so does he. they all do. see how this shapes how they share skov in this kavinsky/skov/swan smut fic i wrote

Hey anyone interested in learning to draw, Proko is having a 20% off sale on their courses from now until December 4th. I got their intro to drawing class this summer (on sale lol) and it’s worth it. The course I’m in is still adding lessons and they already had a ton when I enrolled. You can check out their YouTube as they have some lessons there for free to see if you like the style.

The drawing course has a lot of very short lessons and some longer ones. I’ve found that the style of the teaching works for me and I’ve seen improvement since I started the course this summer. I do need to get back into it since things have settled a bit for me, but it was easy to do a lesson a day and do the homework when I had time. You can download lessons, too, so you don’t need an internet connection to do them.

the way this was broken down was actually much more tangible and applicable than just the usual shallow "just keep your head up, just dont compare, just do it scared" wishy-washy validation, or the overstimulating "10 TIPS N TRICKS TO GET BEEFY SKILLZ IN 1 HR" productivity-obsessed bs that i hear a lot. this gentleman actually addresses the root of some creative stagnation - esp where fear-based motive comes into play. highly recommend, good food thought 👌

As a bonus to the previous post: I started learning drawing from lessons on YouTube, now I'm practicing with shadows. I took an egg as a reference, but it would just be boring to draw a simple egg

Week 2 for Proko figure drawing challenge was 5min gestures.

There is a lot to improve but I can see that I have become so much better over the years. Especially in adding some volume! It is one of my biggest struggles.
