StormClan’s Folly is one of the first books in the series (not counting mangas/graphic novels) that has felt intentional with its use of writing as an artistic medium.

Like this exact metaphor happens three times. In the first two scenarios, the image is used to dissociate from the pain of childbirth. In the third, she’s giving into calmness and tranquility. I guess she’s also dissociating from pain in the third scenario in a “I’m letting go of my anxieties and falling asleep” type of way? Regardless, it’s something that can analyzed to reveal more about a warrior cats character, which never happens!
