too human for it not to hurt | Volkner & Dawn
Clink.
He swept his gaze over the wrench grasped in his grease-stained hand. It had served Volkner well over the years, his trusty wrench. During bouts of boredom, he'd practically built half of the city himself — the sleek walkways, Sunyshore Tower, and how could he forget his newly-renovated Gym—
Clink.
Given that he'd been sitting in the same spot for the last four hours, though, tapping his wrench (clink) against one of the giant mechanic gears in his Gym, Volkner supposed he must have succumbed to yet another fit of boredom.
"I'm going to lose my mind if I don't get out of here." Grumbling, he pushed himself off the floor and strode towards the entrance. "I haven't had a Gym challenger in two weeks. So fuck this, I'm going on an adventure or something."
With a curt nod at his apprentices, Volkner shoved open the doors and marched outside, blinking as his eyes adjusted to the sun's glare. Shoving his hands in his pockets, Volkner set off to wander the streets of Sunyshore.
Ashen Memories || Melody & Dawn
She really needed to come to Ecruteak more often. It wasn't exactly an unpopular opinion, but she felt that it was rightfully considered to be the most beautiful town in all of Johto. Then again maybe she just had a personal attachment to it because of all the historical gems that could be found and that her colleagues didn't seem to care for. Of course the Ruins of Alph were important and the artefacts they found were several thousands of years old and a big step to finding out more about the origin of many things, but there were so many other things in other places as well and they were all missing out on seeing the big picture.
She carefully walked over to what was left of the Brass Tower. Due to its current condition, it was now called the Burned Tower, and...well, most of the building had been reduced to ashes. A lot of the wood used to walk on were wobbly and any sort of adventure into the tower was pretty dangerous without a back-up plan in case you fell. Luckily she had Ghaliya for that, but...if she wanted in, she probably needed to contact the right authorities and get permission first. Although she had no idea who she was supposed to talk to. Maybe she'd just stay outside and inspect whatever else she could.
A pair of shoes softly sounded their way up the steps as she clutched her notepad a little closer to her chest and turned to glance at the other.
