BG3 Reshade + Fixing some small issues
This was just meant to be a small reshade upload to Trello but, there’s a some messed up stuff with BG3 that I realized correcting would be pre-requisits to use this preset. It’s all covered sloppily in the readme. I’ll go more in depth here. I never got around to uploading this on Tumblr while I was playing BG3 but the info should still be good. TLDR; graphics settings, broken x16 fix, updating DLSS, setting up depth map, upscale mods,

You’re graphics settings heavily impact how your game looks (obviously) if you have bad settings already there’s nothing reshade can do to help. I use DLAA (DLSS some parts of A1) everything on highest settings. If you are like me and struggle with grainy shadows then turn down cloud, shadow, fog quality to medium at minimum, it helps a bit. In-game x16 texture filtering is broken, you will need to enable this in Nvidia Control Panel/3d settings/ProgramSettings/BG3dx11/Anisotropic Filtering set it to x16, if you have hair issues make sure you do this.
If you use DLAA/DLSS which many do, you should upgrade to the latest version (3.7) as BG3 uses version 2.4. (this also helps with the shadow issues) I have made a quick guide for this here. https://trello.com/c/ODNia0dG
Before you use the reshade (in BG3) you need to set up your depth map in reshade, or it will be quite weird looking. First go to the addons tab of reshade and make sure Copy Depth Buffer is on, next find the DisplayDepth shader, go to global processes and change (either 0 to 1 or 1 to 0 I forget) the number for Reverse. If it looks okay and you can see the scene again, you’re good to go (display depth will still have depthmap debug filter but you should see objects/outlines again) disable the DisplayDepth shader.
Some mods I use to make everything look more detailed and nice
Upscaled Armour and Clothes Textures
Upscaled Tattoos (and more)
Vivid Landscapes - Water (2k)
Vivid Landscapes - Roads (2k)
Vivid Landscapes - HD Ground and Terrain
This reshade would not be possible without the incredible work done by TreyM who created SHADERDECK/FILMDECK https://www.patreon.com/posts/89778004
This is a reshade meant for screenshots, I use it for gameplay because I’m crazy, do not use it for gameplay if you notice your fps dipping under 60 (outside of A3 that is).
And please do not re-upload this anywhere, it's entirely unoptimized, comes as is, includes shaders, and I still haven't gotten around to making a LUT. This is for people like me who will see that and not care because aesthetics are important. If you want a true SS version add some AO and GI. When I'm actually taking a screenshot I add Quint_dof and filmic_dof, I'll include those shaders with the others in the file incase you don't have them.
Below are some settings to keep in mind. You will have to mess with these for different locations to keep consistency, for instance going from the grove to shadow cursed lands they looks very different, grove is very warm toned and SCL is very cool. I use DLAA so I compensate by lots of sharpening you can mess around with turning some of those off if it's looking.... crispy (I have also experiemented with using sharpen+ from GFE which looks pretty good too layered with re-shade sharpeners, keep the amount low for that one). Apologies if some textures are missing I tried my best, you can search and download the individual shaders if need be (some will have more barriers than others).
FILMDECK Negative Color Temperature will change the temp drastically mess with it to get desired results.
Chromacity Gamme In/Gamma Out controls a lot of the brightness in the re-shade.
Blooming_HDR Exposure 50% Greyvalue is super strong, so turn it down if you're turned off the blooms and it's still bright as hell.
NeoBloom under Adaptation, the Amount controls the entire bloom pretty much. So lower it if it's too bright.
DepthSharpenconstDof adds a bit of DOF, not really noticeable but disable it if you hate it. I use it for sharpening anyways.
prod80_03_Cinetools_LUT You might want to turn this off, I've been having issues getting LUTs to work so idek if it's working or not in the screenshots, it's one of my favorite shaders to use however (normally) so mess around with it.
This is basically the preset I use for every game I play, I just tweak it as needed. I've used it in FF14 and I've used it in Cyberpunk, on older games you should be dropping the heavier filters most of the time and only leave 1 or 2, lots of modern heavy shaders clash pretty badly with old gen graphics, FILMDECK is included in this sadly.
