❝ oh, you know — around. ❞  well, color him surprised. the last thing geno had expected was such a fond welcome from the dastardly king of the koopas of all people. huh. perhaps the old adage of, “distance makes the heart grow fonder,” really held true, even for him. he knew he was a big softie, deep down. 

despite it all, he couldn’t help but squirm, the embrace feeling more like... a death grip than anything. ouch. he didn’t want to snap in half.

❝ heh. what? ❞ a smug wink given, his grin maintained this look that one may have even called ‘shit-eating’. ❝ you’re telling me you actually missed me? the big, bad guy himself? i’m flattered. ❞

      ❝B-Bowser...?❞

   He hadn’t seen the Koopa King since they shared tea together, but Bowser had not left his mind since. Seeing him here, Luigi’s anxiety was the only thing keeping a cap on his other emotions, otherwise, he might have run at him for a big hug. After all, what if he pushed it too far, too fast? Like he did with Prince Peasley. He didn’t wasn’t to ruin this budding new friendship, and the chance for... something more. Maybe...

   The very fact that Bowser made an effort for his birthday brought tears to Luigi’s eyes. He really was a big sweetheart and the green brother felt himself falling even harder. Wiping his eyes and sniffling, Luigi accepted the gift, meeting the other’s eyes.

      ❝Y-You... really want-a me to have this? G-Gosh...I-I... I’m-a so happy!❞

“Jeez.. this place is really scary” Pit mumbled a bit, staring at the big creepy mansion. The angel heard that Luigi lived here, so, he might as well knock and ask. Pit ran up the small flight of stairs on to the porch, he knocked on the door.

   Well, if there was anything he was expecting on his routinely morning walk around the Mushroom Kingdom, it certainly wasn’t this! Upon stumbling into the Star Sprite, a grin breaks out across the plumber’s face, and it’s with a tip of the hat and a pep in his step that he giddily saunters over to greet.

     “Starlow! It’s-a been-a so long! How have-a you been?”

"H-hey, Geno! I got a surprise for you!" He holds out a decently-sized paper bag LOADED with sugar cookies. But they're not just *any* sugar cookies. They're star shaped, with a dark blue, glittery gloss frosting, and the best of all- topped with 1 konpeito on each point, and a tiny starbit in the middle. -Luigi (Dreamy-green)

❝ huh? ❞  mild confusion results in a furrowed brow, ne’er to eliminate his warm smile. accepting the paper bag and beginning to unfurl the top, geno wonders out loud, ❝ a surprise, eh? what have we here—?

they’re cookies. nay, they are not only cookies, but they are also star bit-laden, each with the presence of some konpeito to figuratively and literally sweeten the pot. he has to keep himself from jumping on them like a starving dingo, for there is just one last thing he needs to ascertain. then and only then will he allow himself to go ham.

❝ are... these all for me? ❞ he sincerely hopes the answer is ‘yes’, because stars above, he wants to devour every last one of these, right here, right now.
