Wow what about the Finnish name policy?

the basis is that you can't really give your child a name which is against the national/domestic name policy but they have now slowly started moving it to little more liberal way but cause our language and theremore name policy is so different from many other countries, there's still restrictions to many "international" names

for example few years back there was a big big case about parents wanting to name their son 'axl' but they were like nope no no can't do, not according to the name policy so in the end it went all the way to the european court of human rights where they finally accepted it

if they had wanted to name him e.g. aleksi or alex, that'd have been all okay cause it would've been according to finnish or swedish spelling but axl was way too off like wtf?
